Giannis Antetokounmpo drops major hint over NBA future after New York Knicks trade links

GIANNIS Antetokounmpo revealed a major hint over his NBA future amid being linked to a trade to teams including the New York Knicks.

The Milwaukee Bucks superstar addressed the chatter about him leaving the team he’s spent his whole 12-year career with.

Antetokounmpo doesn’t become a free agent until after the 2026-27 season.

But the two-time NBA MVP has been in trade rumors over the last few months.

Antetokounmpo appeared on the popular streamer IShowSpeed‘s live stream on Thursday.

He told the 20-year-old that “a lot of people” are trying to convince him to play in New York, but he has shut down that possibility.

The 6-foot-11 Giannis was then asked by IShowSpeed if he would remain in Milwaukee.

“Probably,” Antetokounmpo said.

“Probably. We’ll see.

“. … I love Milwaukee.”

Antetokounmpo’s latest comments have likely shut down the chances of him playing for the Knicks, who are coming off an Eastern Conference Finals appearance, and the Brooklyn Nets, two New York-based teams.

Still, he didn’t shut the door on not returning to the Bucks, which can give teams some hope.

Other than the Knicks and the Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors are also believed to be interested in the ‘Greek Freak’.

Antetokounmpo has at least two years left on his contract.

He will be eligible to sign a four-year, $293 million extension with Milwaukee next summer.

It’s not surprising that Antetokounmpo is happy with the Bucks.

During his career, the nine-time All-Star has won the 2019-20 Defensive Player of the Year, earned two league MVPs, and was the MVP of the 2021 NBA Finals after helping the Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns.

Antetokounmpo has also earned five-time NBA All-Defensive Team nods.

Still, the Bucks haven’t made it to the Eastern Conference Finals since their title run.

And the franchise recently waived injured All-Star Damian Lillard.

They did, however, sign former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner.
