Stephen A. made an appearance on News Nation on Friday to talk to Chris Cuomo.

During the appearance, he questioned why Americans were so interested in the case of the supposed existence of an Epstein client list.

The Trump administration once promised to release this list, but have since backtracked on that and have put the existence of the list in question.

Stephen A. doesn’t know why this is such a big deal to so many people.

“You’re in an uproar off the Epstein list?” Smith said.

“That’s all you’ve got? It’s really really surprising that this matters. Of course I think there’s a list, but I don’t know.

“I suspect [there’s a list], but I have no knowledge, nor do I care. It’s Friday night, I’m getting ready to go out and enjoy myself.”

Stephen A. explained that the list has no affect on his life, so he doesn’t feel he should care about it.

“I’m getting ready to have a nice week. I could give a damn about the Epstein client list,” he said.

“This has no effect on me whatsoever. I have a life! I don’t understand, for the life of me, why this matters so much?

“I’m talking about people losing- they’re crying on camera, they’re talking about resignations, they’re pissed off about everything.

“I’m like, ‘Really?’ With all the stuff that’s going on in this country, with all the power that you possess because of the cache and influence you have because of your connection to this administration, that’s why you’re upset at Trump?”

Stephen A, who has become more of a political figure in 2025, took Trump’s side and said people should forget about it.

“I didn’t blame Trump one bit for looking at them and saying, ‘Really? That really matters to you? It’s really that important?’” Stephen A. said.

“Now maybe he had a different reason for saying it, trying to be evasive or whatever. I don’t know.

“But I do know this. In the grand scheme of things, it ain’t gonna affect the lives of over two to three hundred million Americans.

STEPHEN A. Smith is now the face of ESPN and an executive producer on First Take having initially started working for the company back in 2003.

He was a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1994 to 2010.

His began as an NBA writer before becoming a general sports columnist.

Before that, Smith worked as a reporter with Winston-Salem Journal, the Greensboro News, and the New York Daily News.

“I think we’ll be just fine without knowing whether or not there was really, really a client list.

“I think we’ll be okay. It’s unbelievable that this is a big deal to me.”

Stephen A. previously took a stance on the Epstein files just last year.

At the time, Aaron Rodgers accused late night host Jimmy Kimmel of being on Epstein’s client list.

When that happened, Stephen A. said “Jeffrey Epstein ain’t nothing to joke about.”

It seems that he has changed his tune in 2025, simply refusing to care about the story.
