The San Francisco 49ers have contract drama to deal with as the 2025 NFL season approaches.
49ers star wideout Jauan Jennings has reportedly demanded a new contract or to be traded to a different team, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Jennings can still report to training camp later this month even if he doesn’t sign a new contract, the report added.
The 28-year-old had a breakout season in 2024.
Jennings set career-highs in receptions (77), receiving yards (975), and touchdowns (6).
The Tennessee product recorded 78 receptions in his first season in the league.
It appears that the 49ers have put plenty of trust in the 2020 seventh-round pick.
San Francisco traded star wideout Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders during the offseason.
And 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk’s return date from a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee is not known.
