The hermitage of Rishi Naen That Phutthakun in Pho Taeng subdistrict, Bang Sai district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, teemed with worshippers and lottery enthusiasts yesterday, eager to boost their luck ahead of tomorrow’s draw.
Hundreds of visitors flocked to pay respects and ask for blessings from revered figures believed to hold supernatural power.
Among the most popular were the towering 16-metre, nine-faced Thao Wessuwan, widely regarded as the largest of its kind, along with Father Rishi Phrommarat, Mae Takhian, Phra Phikanet, Phra Sangkachai, Luang Pho Mi Tham Chindamani, and the Golden Boy of Chao Sua Heng.
Visitors brought offerings of pumpkins, red drinks, sweets, toys, bicycles, and sacks of rice, gifts fulfilling past vows made in exchange for fortune and success.
Temple staff said these items would later be donated to schools, temples, and local charities to ensure they benefit the community.
A 50 year old woman, Chiwanan Seesawarn, travelled from Loei province in search of another stroke of luck. She prayed before Grandfather Rishi Phrommarat and the Golden Boy, asking Master Rishi Naen That Phutthakun to inscribe the Na Phra Lak Na Thong spell on her hands to “open her fortune as a millionaire.”
Chiwanan claimed she has been blessed with winnings for six consecutive draws and had pocketed more than 90,000 baht this month alone.
“I came here to ask for blessings again,” she said, clutching her offering tray.
Meanwhile, the Sala Boonchuay pavilion in front of the Grandfather Rishi statue became a magnet for devotees trying to catch a glimpse of the elusive lucky numbers.
According to local custom, red candle wax drips into a holy water basin during ancient rituals, forming shapes believed to be auspicious, KhaoSod reported.
Eagle-eyed believers jostled for the best angle to photograph the numbers floating on the water’s surface.
“People could see 243, 16, and 5 from different viewpoints,” one visitor said. “Everyone was matching the numbers and planning what to buy for the next draw.”
