THE BACHELOR in Paradise premiere ratings have plummeted to the lowest of all time as fans slam this new season as ‘unwatchable,’ The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
Despite attempting to throw in a new surprise when ABC announced contestants from both the Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette would also be part of the cast, interest with viewers continues to decline.

Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise premiered on Monday, July 7th, and is the first time ever the show has filmed in Costa Rica.
As The U.S. Sun previously reported, with the addition of the senior contestants from the Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette, production needed a resort that included air conditioning.
Although the show went for big swings with new changes this season, the ratings continue to drop – a trend they’ve been enduring for years.
The premiere of season 10 brought in just over 1.8 million viewers, according to Neilsen.
In comparison, for season 9, the Summer spinoff premiere drew in over 2.1 million viewers.
The numbers have continued to decline per season since the show first premiered back in 2014.
The season 8 premiere brought in 2.6 million people, while season 7 drew in 3.4 million.
Season 6 had a whopping 4.3 million fans watching the first night while season 5 raked in 4.6 million.

Season 4, which featured fan-favorite stars such as Corinne Olympios, Raven Gates and Dean Unglert, brought in 5.1 million – even more than season 3’s 4.9 million.
For season two, the franchise had the highest premiere ratings they have ever seen with 5.5 million viewers.
The season that started it all, season 1 back in 2014, kicked off with an impressive 5.3 million eyeballs tuning in – marking the current season’s viewership less than half of what they once got.
ADIOS, MEXICO!
The first nine seasons of BIP have been filmed at an oceanfront resort in Mexico.
Season 1 was filmed at the Casa Palapa resort in Tulum, while seasons 2 through 9 were taped at the exotic Playa Escondida oceanfront hotel in Sayulita.
However, for the first time ever, Bachelor in Paradise fled Mexico and headed to film season 10 in Costa Rica.
The contestants were spoiled with private pools on their balconies and air-conditioned rooms for the first time ever at the Azura Beach Resort.
Adding more insight into the major production change, an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun: “The contract with the Mexico resort was up.
“But more so, the show needed to find a place they could film that had air conditioning.
“The Mexico resort did not have air conditioning and there were some close calls and big scares due to the heat (mixed with alcohol and all the emotions of the show) that they wanted to avoid.”

The source added that when execs decided that contestants from both the Golden Bachelor and the Golden Bachelorette would be added to the mix, it was “not a question” that they needed to find a location that had AC to avoid any safety hazards.
“When it was decided they were going to bring some Golden Bachelor/Bachelorette contestants on who are much older, it was a no brainer the filming location had to change.
“They cannot have seniors out on the beach in 110-degree weather with no AC.
“Once they decided to bring the Seniors on, production made it clear to find an exotic location with AC. It was a non-negotiable.”
The filming locations in Mexico did not have air conditioning and contestants were plagued by intense heat and constant humidity.
Temperatures would breach 100 degrees Fahrenheit during these times, with the only sense of relief being a jump in the pool or warm ocean.
Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise premieres on July 7th at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
