Heartbreaking 911 call NFL icon John Elway made after tragic golf cart accident that killed his agent is released

THE 911 call made by NFL legend John Elway after a fatal golf cart accident that killed his agent, Jeff Sperbeck, has been released.

Sperbeck, 62, was pronounced dead in April after sustaining serious injuries from a golf cart accident where Elway, 64, was reportedly driving.

His agent had fallen off the back of the vehicle without Elway realizing at first, an insider told The U.S. Sun.

MTV star Johnny Bananas Devenanzio was on the back of the cart with Sperbeck when he fell, and attempted to render aid, the insider claimed.

“Jeff just fell backward off the golf cart. He fell in a really bad way, and there was just a lot of blood,” the insider said.

“Johnny was the one helping, dealing with the blood. He was holding Jeff’s head, trying to stop the bleeding.”

It was also revealed that the ambulance came around 10 minutes later.

In the newly released 911 call audio, Elway calmly answered the questions of the operator as they attempted to give aid to Sperbeck.

“He fell off the golf cart,” Elway said on the phone.

“He was on the back and he fell off the golf cart.”

The mostly redacted call ends when Elway hands over the phone to another person, who claimed that a medic was on scene.

Earlier this week, an investigation concluded that the incident was an accident, and that Elway will avoid any charges.

“We’ve talked to everyone involved and we found nothing new,” Sheriff Chad Bianco said.

“There was nothing criminal, it was what we’ve been saying all along that this was a tragic accident.”

In 2013, Sperbeck and Elway had opened a winery together after a decades-long friendship.

Elway, who played for the Denver Broncos during his career, is a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

Sperbeck had been his agent, business manager, and business partner.

An insider previously told The U.S. Sun that it was seemingly a freak accident.

“They weren’t even driving erratically, or speeding, Jeff just fell off balance.”

Police were slammed by the insider, who said that they did not show up when the accident happened.

“It was a busy weekend, but, you know, it was such a bad accident, it’s weird they weren’t there.”

But police claimed that they had not been aware of the accident until two days later.

“As a result, we were unable to respond at the time, as we had no prior knowledge of the situation from any source.”
