Joy Taylor handed shock career lifeline as axed Fox Sports star is offered major new role

JOY Taylor has been given a potential opportunity to return to the sports media world just days after being axed from Fox Sports.

Taylor and her program, Speak, were cut on Monday, along with two other FS1 shows.

Taylor’s 10-year stint with Fox came to an end, as her future seemed uncertain.

However, the 38-year-old appears to have an intriguing option out there.

NBA legend Gilbert Arenas owns the basketball podcast Gil’s Arena, which has gotten rapidly popular, boasting 1.1 million YouTube subscribers and counting.

Arenas recently revealed he has been talking to Taylor for a while about potentially signing her for his show.

“Joy’s a great host,” Arenas said on the No Chill Gill Summer League stream.

“I know we’re looking at her for the football side.”

Taylor hasn’t opened up yet on her Fox departure.

But shortly after the news broke, she posted a workout video on Instagram.

Taylor appears to be on vacation in the Bahamas as she posted pictures on social media from the island with her brother and sister-in-law on Tuesday.

She is the host of her Two Personal podcast, which is set to premiere on Thursday.

It’s not known if the podcast will be recorded before the news of her Fox axe came out.

It was revealed on Wednesday that Kay Adams could be in line to join Fox Sports after the network’s shake-up.

Adams hosts her own daily sports show Up & Adams on FanDuel TV, which could move to Fox after Taylor’s exit.

The 39-year-old has plenty of broadcasting experience as she previously hosted NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and worked special events for the Chicago Bears.

Other than Adams, sports media stars Tony Reali and Max Kellerman are said to be candidates to sign with Fox.

The network needs replacements as Emmanuel Acho, Keyshawn Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, among others, were also let go.

Fox Sports is also reportedly closing in on a broadcasting deal with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and his company.

The deal would include Portnoy appearing on the hit college football pregame show, Big Noon Kickoff, and Barstool Sports’ content being shown on FS1, per Front Office Sports.
