NEW Trader Joe’s locations have been revealed to be opening soon.
An exact list of the new store locations has been revealed, as the US retailer follows rival Costco‘s similar announcement.
Trader Joe’s is making big moves in the industry following the announcement of 16 new store locations.
The stores will stretch over a number of US states, including Arizona, Texas and Virginia.
There are no opening dates for these new stores yet, however.
Trader Joe’s has said that it is frequently updating the tab on its website that lists new stores.
Nakia Rohde, a spokesperson for the company, said that it adds to the “Store Openings” tab on its announcement page “almost every month.”
Trader Joe’s had previously announced the opening of an additional 21 stores back in April.
It appears there is no crossover between the April list and the new list.
Since the April list was announced, Trader Joe’s has opened six of those locations.
This includes one in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Shoppers can find the store opposite another Trader Joe’s location on Riverside Drive.
Rohde told USA TODAY at the time that the company intends to keep both locations open, saying that the new store “is bigger and has an attached underground parking lot.”
COSTCO EXPANSION
At the same time, rival Costco is planning an expansion for itself, with 27 new warehouses to be opened by the end of the year.
CEO Ron Vachris said: “For this fiscal year, we expect to open 27 new warehouses, including three relocations for a total of 24 net new buildings.”
Seven of these stores will open in August, but not all of them will be found in the US.

Two will open in Canada and one will open in Mexico next month.

- Richland, Washington (opening Aug. 8)
- Allen, Texas (opening date TBA)

Costco aims to launch an additional 10 locations in the fourth quarter, including Costco’s second warehouse in Sweden, its 20th in South Korea, Vachris said.
The CEO also noted Costco has expanded globally this year, with new stores “including a relocation in Melbourne, Australia, our 37th warehouse in Japan and seven net new U.S. locations”.
Several stores have opened up in the US already, too.
These can be found in places like Brentwood, California, Sharon, Massachusetts, Prosper, Texas and Stuart Florida.
