ANGEL City star Savy King has opened up on her on-field scare during a National Women’s Soccer League game.
King, 20, has said the medical team saved her life after she collapsed on the field in an NWSL game against Utah Royals in May.

The defender was rushed to hospital where she was given emergency heart surgery[/caption]
The defender, who has played for the US Women’s National Team at youth level, has now spoken about what she remembers from the terrifying experience.
Speaking on Good Morning America, King said: “There’s actually a lot that I don’t remember.
“I remember I grabbed my leg because I was trying to distract myself from the fact that I felt like I was going to pass out.
“And then I remember the medical staff coming onto the field”.
King was rushed to a nearby hospital after Angel City staff preformed CPR on her on the field.
And while at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is Los Angeles, King underwent emergency heart surgery.
That operation created a new pathway for blood to get to her artery after she was found to have been born with an “anomalous left coronary artery” – which caused her collapse according to Dr. Richard Kim of Cedars-Sinai.
King thanked the team who performed the surgery for saving her life and allowing her to get back on the field and continue her career.
She added: “They saved my life. That will stay with me forever in my heart.
“And just knowing I get to play in front of them too, they were a huge reason why I am here. I play for them too, now.”
King is yet to return to soccer, but is working hard to get back to match fitness and play once more.
Vowing to make her return, she said: “I was just so happy I was going to be able to recover and be as normal, and almost be like a ‘Savy 2.0′ now.
“I’ll be back and better than ever.”
