SHOPPERS at Costco are thrilled over a brand new addition to the deli area this summer.
Except, some say they’ve been making their own makeshift variation of the delectable food item for years.

BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese With Bacon is available for less than $20[/caption]
A longtime member at the warehouse retailer could be seen walking around their local store in a recent reel on Facebook before finding the BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon.
“Okay this just sounds amazing!” they exclaimed.
Included in the dish was the famous Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken sliced up and topped with a BBQ sauce.
There’s also a rich Cavatappi pasta base with a cheesy sauce and shredded cheese on top along with savory bacon crumbles.
A price was listed at $17.06 for a 3.8-pound package that’s ready to be heated up in the oven and eaten.
The unit cost was $4.49 per pound, although prices will likely vary by Costco location and state.
It’s a listing slightly more than the old macaroni and cheese platter that the retailer has sold in the past, which was always $3.49 per pound.
Overall, the pricing for the BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon is not terrible considering it doesn’t require any prep or cooking and has both chicken and bacon.
Additionally, some who have made their own versions of the dish not only had to make most of it from scratch, but it cost $36.
“Mac and cheese tray, a rotisserie chicken, a bag of bacon bits, and a big bag of garden salsa chips,” wrote innovative Costco member, Mary, in a June Facebook post.
“$36 in all spent at Costco and we have dinner for 3 days, with enough leftover chicken to make sandwiches for lunch with chips for 2 days.”
The amount Mary made is seemingly more than would come in the $17.06 package of the pre-made BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon, so that could justify the $36 cost.
It’s unclear exactly when the BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon dropped, or if it’s been rolled out at all of Costco’s over 600 locations nationwide just yet.
The U.S. Sun has contacted Costco for more details.

BAKERY BONUS
Costco also made an update to another beloved item this year in the bakery section.
While the bakery section features a plethora offerings — including cakes, pies breads, and cookies — muffins are a fan-favorite.
Earlier in July, a staffer informed a member that the muffin recipe was recently changed.
“Today at Covington Costco they had samples of their chocolate muffin,” a shopper, Connie, wrote.
“It was very moist, the lady said they had Changed the Recipe. I guess they are listening to what people want.”
ADJUSTMENT APPROVED
Several others agreed that the new muffin recipe was an improvement.
“It’s way better! Not the same as the old, but way better than the cardboard they tried replacing it with,” a fellow customer said.
Someone else called it a “dangerously good” move.
“Thankfully one step in the right direction,” a third added.
Except not all recent Costco updates have received a positive response.
An adjustment to the food court had members crying out that it was “even worse” than expected with 10-minute waits.
Some also demanded answers this summer after a “scanning” checkout change at Costco.
