UPS has abruptly shut an essential store and left its customers dumbfounded – as it was the city’s only branch.
The site’s doors were locked without warning, leaving customers baffled and frustrated at the surprise move.

An employee confirmed the business’s franchise agreement was terminated on Monday night around 6pm.
The closure was described as “sudden and unexpected“.
Local residents said they were shocked to find the store had shut its doors.
UPS store regular Sarah said: “They’ve not posted it, they’ve not advertised they were closing that I know of.”
She had turned up to use the store – only to find a sign saying it was permanently closed.
The notice advised customers to visit UPS Stores in Columbia or Osage Beach instead.
Astonished Sarah said the abrupt closure was “very disappointing”.
And she explained that finding a new location to send her parcels would now be a major hassle.
“I do have to drive in from Taos, so to have to take it further than Jeff City, that’s even more of an inconvenience,” she said.
Other businesses in the area said they were also caught off guard.
Taylor Meloy, who works next door at Gladiator Games, said the UPS Store was always busy – serving hundreds of customers per day.
“I’m just really surprised it did close down,” he said.
“It was the reason this parking lot is always full.”
Taylor said dozens of people had been turning up unaware of the sudden closure.
He added: “I’ve personally talked to probably 60 people since yesterday.”
One UPS Store employee said customers could still track or reroute packages online.
They can use either UPS.com or FedEx.com to make alternative arrangements.
The worker also thanked the community for its support during the sudden closure.
In March, another UPS store closed down without notice, leaving local businesses scrambling for answers.
The store had operated for more than a decade before the unexpected closure.
The branch in Boca Raton, Florida, suddenly closed overnight, leaving businesses without access to mail service.
