NFL star Jordan Addison handed final punishment decision over DUI case as NFL release statement

MINNESOTA Vikings star wide receiver Jordan Addison received a final punishment decision concerning his 2024 DUI case.

The former first-round pick’s punishment isn’t done, however, as he’ll also have to wait for an NFL disciplinary verdict.

Addison was arrested last July for driving under the influence of alcohol near Los Angeles International Airport.

On Thursday, the 23-year-old Addison pleaded no contest to a lesser charge to resolve the DUI citation, his attorney said, per ESPN.

Addison will plead to what is known as a “wet reckless” charge.

Since the charge occurred in California, he will plead no contest to reckless driving with the involvement of alcohol.

So Addison will be placed on probation for 12 months, pay a $390 fine, and complete two online courses.

The plea agreement does mean, however, that the NFL can hand him discipline.

“We have been closely monitoring all developments in the matter which remains under review,” the NFL said in a statement Thursday.

Addison’s plea acknowledging the use of alcohol in a driving incident could result in the NFL star receiving a multi-game suspension due to the league’s policy and program on substance abuse.

“Absent aggravating circumstances, discipline for a first offense will be a suspension without pay of three regular or postseason games,” the NFL says.

Addison was found to be asleep at the wheel of a white Rolls-Royce that was blocking “a lane of I-105 westbound near LAX,” per ESPN.

He spoke about the possibility of a suspension last summer.

“Whatever’s out there for me, whatever comes with it, I’ll own up to everything. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved,” Addison said.

Addison was also arrested in 2023.

He was involved in an incident after being caught speeding down a Minnesota highway.

Addison was charged with speeding and reckless driving after driving 140 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

He claimed he was rushing because his dog was having an emergency.

The USC product recorded 63 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns.

Addison and the Vikings will begin training camp on Tuesday, with the 2025 season approaching.
