LITTLE EAGLE, SD (KELO) — A Little Eagle, South Dakota man is going to prison for killing his brother.
A federal judge has sentenced 35 year-old Evan John Bobtail Bear to five years behind bars after he had pled guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter in February.
Prosecutors say Bobtail Bear got into an argument with his brother in May of 2024 and punched him in the head.
His brother went down from the punch and struck his head on a concrete driveway, leaving him unconscious.
The brother died in a North Dakota hospital the following month.
