THE Kansas City Chiefs have continued to shore up their future with a massive $93 million deal with a star.
Andy Reid and the Chiefs have had a busy offseason when it comes to extending key players to contracts.

Kansas City have lucrative deals with Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, and Travis Kelce.
But they still found a way to sign a valuable piece on their defense to a contract extension over the weekend.
Defensive end George Karlaftis agreed to a four-year, $93 million contract that includes $63 million guaranteed, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Karlaftis has totalled 24.5 sacks during his first three seasons with the Chiefs.
He’s helped Kansas City make three Super Bowl appearances and win two of them.
Reid confirmed the extension and gave kudos to the 24-year-old for receiving the raise.
“I think that’s already done. That’s a great thing. He’s a heck of a player. He’s done a great job here, and he’s profited from that,” Reid said.
“He’s a relentless player.
“He’s smart, reliable, you can trust he’s going to be there and go 100 miles per hour.”
A Purdue product, Karlaftis was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He wasn’t shabby in his last game appearance which occurred in Kansas City’s Super Bowl 59 brutal loss back in February.
Karlaftis posted a sack and four total tackles in the big game.
The 6-foot-4, 263-pound Karlaftis isn’t the only Chiefs player to receive an extension ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Last week, right guard Trey Smith signed a four-year, $94 million deal.

Smith is now the highest-paid guard in the NFL after the contract.
He will work alongside center Creed Humphrey, who agreed to the highest-paid center contract last summer.
After Smith enjoyed a 2024 Pro Bowl season, the Chiefs applied the franchise tag to the offensive lineman.
They were able to receive control of the lineman for another season and with a base salary of $23.4 million.
