‘Rest in Peace brother’ – Emotional JJ Watt sends personal message after Super Bowl winning NFL star dies aged just 38

JJ Watt shared an emotional message after a Super Bowl-winning star died at 38 after a battle with cancer.

The former NFL linebacker Bryan Braman tragically passed away last week.

Braman was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer back in February.

The former Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles player had undergone numerous surgeries and a 12-week-long program to fight the disease.

Unfortunately, Braman succumbed to the cancer last week and leaves behind two daughters, ages 11 and 8.

On Thursday, Braman’s former Texans teammate, Watt, reacted to the news of the late 38-year-old.

“Rest in peace brother, Watt wrote on X.

“Gone far too soon.”

Watt and Braman entered the league together in 2011 as Watt was the No. 11 overall pick in the draft that year.

Braman played with Watt for three seasons after going undrafted out of West Texas A&M.

He then spent three seasons with the Eagles before joining the New Orleans Saints in 2017.

The Saints released Braman during that year, and he returned to the Eagles later that season.

He’d be part of an Eagles playoff run and help in the team’s Super Bowl 52 victory over the New England Patriots in 2018.

Braman also blocked a punt in the Divisional Round of those playoffs.

His cancer battle was revealed earlier this month when a GoFundMe was created to help pay for his expenses.

Numerous NFL players chipped in to the cause, including Watt, who donated $10,000.

Braman’s longtime agent, Sean Stellato, opened up on his former client.

“Him and I cried in each other’s arms when he won Super Bowl LII on the field. And I was holding his daughter in a photo, which was really cool,” Stellato told People.

“I would say, [he was] a warrior in every sense, on the field and in life. He faced every battle with unshakable grit and heart.

“And his passing really leaves a void, not only in the football community, but in the spirit of really every underdog who ever had to fight to play this game of football.”
