TARGET has just stoked controversy after dropping a decades-old price policy, but you can find it at Best Buy.
In fact, many retailers offer a similar policy to the one Target just scrapped, which saves you money by finding you the best deals.

A leaked memo from a Target employee recently revealed that the major retailer would be ending its price match policy for other stores.
Starting from July 28, Target will no longer be telling you if you can find a better deal on a product at one of its competitors.
From July 28, you will only be able to price match on Target products.
So if you see something in-store that is cheaper on the Target website or app, you will get it for that website price.
It will mean you are less knowledgeable on better deals you could find at places like Walmart of Amazon.
The memo read: “Since most price matches happen within Target, we’re adjusting our price match policy to exclusively match our in store, app and Target.com pricing, including Target Plus items.”
Shoppers have reacted poorly to this switch on social media, with some saying that this will badly damage their customer base.
One person wrote on Facebook: “Oh wow. They will lose business.”
And someone else mourned the loss of the current policy: “Awww I always price match during the holidays!”
Global Data retail analyst Neil Saunders said: “Perhaps Target was being too generous with its price-matching policy.
“That said, it will need to deal with any fallout and work hard to convince customers it is competitive and offers great value for money.”
PRICE MATCH PLACES
Shoppers need not fear, though, as plenty of other major retailers do offer some variation on Target‘s price match policy.
Namely, Best Buy will match the prices of some of its competitors on identical items.
The list of competitors includes Walmart, Target, Costco and Amazon.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some ones you can use:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
- Honey is a price comparison tool that lets you compare prices through your browser. It can also find coupons and codes for saving money on items you’re looking at.
Elsewhere, Dick’s Sporting Goods practices a similar prtice match policy.
The company also includes direct-to-consumer sales from brands like Nike and Under Armour.
Kohl’s will also honor a local retailer’s advertised price in-store, but will not do the same for online pricing.
The store says shoppers can use other coupons or discounts on price-matched products.
Both Home Depot and Lowe’s will match prices from local stores and some stores online.
But each company stocks different brands in different categories.
This could make it harder to find an exact product match at another store.
