Kelce contemplated retirement following a subpar Super Bowl 59 performance and a career-worst season.
But the 35-year-old elected to play the final year of his two-year deal he signed in 2024.
After Tuesday’s practice session, Reid discussed the possibility of Kelce playing his final season in the 2025-26 campaign.
“He’s phenomenal, he’s been great for this organization,” Reid told reporters.
“I’ve watched him grow as a player, as a man.
“We haven’t talked about last years.
“You hope he plays forever, but that’s probably not going to happen for any of us.
“Whenever he decides to hang it up, he’s built a great legacy.
“If he decides this is it, that’s it — and if not, more power to him.”
Reid sharing that he hasn’t spoken with Kelce about his future could be a good sign for Chiefs fans who want him playing past the upcoming season.
The tight end has 1,004 career receptions for 12,151 yards and 77 touchdowns.
Kelce also has three Super Bowl rings.
The future Hall of Famer Kelce appeared at training camp.
Kelce was noticeably slimmer as he rocked a longer hairdo and beard.

His new look comes after he reportedly dropped 25 pounds thanks to an offseason training program and diet.
And Kelce is known for his usual fade haircut.
The Chiefs will look to win their third Super Bowl in four campaigns.
They will begin the 2025 season on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5.
