Bao Bao by Chef Yubin: Michelin-level Shanghai dim sum arrives to centralwOrld

Shanghai’s legendary dim sum experience has officially arrived in Bangkok as Bao Bao has opened its doors at centralwOrld, Level 6, Atrium zone. Famed for its authentic recipes and Michelin-level culinary expertise, Bao Bao offers Thai food lovers a chance to savour the rich tradition of Chinese cuisine, right in the capital.

Helmed by Chef Yubin, a Michelin-rated expert in Chinese cooking, Bao Bao combines centuries-old Shanghai culinary heritage with modern execution. The new centralwOrld branch features the brand’s signature offering: nine distinct flavours of xiao long bao, made with delicate wrappers, flavourful fillings, and Bao Bao’s trademark rich broth.

Guests who had arrived days before the opening of the restaurant on July 17 had a chance to taste the selected menu of exquisite dishes that they offered, which included:

Putting a spotlight on the signature dishes of the menu:

  • Classic Pork Xiao Long Bao*: A chef-recommended highlight with perfectly seasoned pork and aromatic soup sealed in a paper-thin dumpling skin.
  • Assorted Xiao Long Bao Platter*: Ideal for first-timers or indecisive diners, this selection includes the restaurant’s most popular flavours in one set. Some of the flavours include a classic one, one with truffle, and a vegetarian option as well, so you will have a different taste with every bao that you pick up.
  • Giant Signature Xiao Long Bao: Designed for sharing, this oversized version of the iconic dumpling delivers a hearty, fun-filled experience.
  • Mapo Tofu Xiao Long Bao: A Sichuan twist featuring spicy, numbing mala flavours packed inside a dumpling.
  • Crab Roe Egg Noodles:* Premium crab roe meets perfectly cooked noodles in this rich and indulgent dish.

What sets Bao Bao by Chef Yubin apart is its mission to make Michelin-quality Shanghai cuisine accessible to all diners. In a lot of cases, food of great quality must include exorbitant pricing due to various reasons, which makes it inaccessible to a lot of people. Bao Bao aims to allow you to experience the best that Shanghai has without draining your wallet.

With that, their pricing model is unaffected by high culinary standards, allowing for an affordable premium meal without compromise.
