NBC are reportedly in talks over a dramatic return for a dedicated sports channel.
The move comes just four years after their previous channel was abruptly shut down.

NBC Sports Network closed in 2021 due to low ratings and the company’s investment in streaming.
But the Wall Street Journal reports it could be making a comeback to compete with FS1 and ESPN’s stable.
They have placed a greater importance on streaming service Peacock.
NBC has the rights to Sunday Night Football in the NFL as well as some playoff games.
There have also been Peacock exclusive fixtures as part of their deal with the league.
The network will become an NBA broadcaster again as well this year.
NBC used to show NHL games on Sports Network before it’s closure.
They are also the Olympics rights holders in the US and have Premier League games.
All those fixtures as well as Olympic action is available on Peacock.
But they could be part of NBC Sports Network’s offering along with NBA if the channel makes a return.
NBC also has college football rights for the Big Ten as well as with Notre Dame.
USA Network has been used as a home for some sports.
Premier League games often feature on the channel if they’re not on NBC.
And it has also been used for early action from golf majors.
The Wall Street Journal report added that a comeback for the channel would be a safety net in case the Peacock subscriber base doesn’t grow.
The current cheapest Peacock subscription costs $10.99 a month.
NBC will be the home of Super Bowl LX.
The game will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 8.
It will be broadcast around the same time as the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
And they will also be showing the NBA All-Star Game during the period.
