A COSTCO customer has been left stunned after getting even more money back than they paid when returning a 13-year-old kitchen item.
The shopper took to social media to praise the chain’s “fantastic” customer service.

Elke Turner revealed on Facebook how her Vitamix blender had stopped working after 13 years.
She said the blender had been a “significant investment”.
But Costco could not find the purchase when she contacted customer service, as they only kept records for 10 years.
“Going through Vitamix was going to be costly, but Costco assured me that if I found my receipt, they would refund my money,” she added.
“Having moved this last year, I was unsure that I would find it in the next decade, since I still have a garage full of boxes to sort through.
“After much prayer, the receipt revealed itself, and sure enough, Costco gave me a full refund.”
But the returns deal was even more generous than she had hoped for.
Elke had originally bought the blender with a discount coupon, but the store could not find this.
As a result, she was refunded the full price of item, rather than the discounted rate she initially paid.
“I was flabbergasted,” she said. “I’ve also had to replace my coffee maker twice, since the new models seem to be designed to last only about one year.
“No questions asked.
“I will continued to buy Costco when I can, as the return policy on more significant purchases is unbeatable.”
Commenters on the post also shared their delight at Costco’s returns policy.
One said: “Similar case happened to me last week. Now I have a new blender, extra cash and a happy gait.”
Another added: “I had no idea how good their return policy is! Something to keep in mind for sure.”
It comes after another shopper shared their experience of Costco’s generosity around returns.
One parents took to Reddit to show how they had been able to take back a “several year old playset”.
The post showed a visibly worn down wooden playset being taken back to the store.
Previously, a Costco member on Reddit reported seeing another customer attempt to return a TV from 2002 at their local store.
They shared a photo of the old set in the queue for the returns kiosk.

There are a few exceptions to this 100% satisfaction guarantee which are:
- Electronics – Returns will be accepted within 90 days of the date the member received the product.
- Diamonds – 1.00ct or larger must be returned with all original paperwork within 48 hours and they will be inspected for authenticity.
- Cigarettes and alcohol – These items cannot be returned by law.
- Items with a limited useful life expectancy such as batteries and tires cannot be returned.
- Special Order Kiosk and Custom Installed Programs can only be returned or refunded if under warranty repair/replacement.
- Gold bullion, bars, and silver coins are non-refundable.
- Shop Cards are non-refundable.
- Airline and Live Performance Event items are non-refundable.
Costco memberships can be canceled and refunded at any time if a customer is dissatisfied.
