Aaron Rodgers breaks silence on Terry Bradshaw after Fox NFL Sunday star told him ‘chew on bark and whisper to the gods’

AARON Rodgers has responded to comments made by Terry Bradshaw before he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers, 41, ended months of speculation about his future when he finally signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh.

He was released by the New York Jets in March and widely-tipped to sign for the Steelers throughout the spring.

But Rodgers finally agreed to join the NFL team in June.

And the Steelers’ drawn-out pursuit of him left Bradshaw furious.

Bradshaw won four Super Bowls with Pittsburgh during his quarterback playing days.

His broadcasting career with Fox has been just as iconic.

But the Fox NFL Sunday star called Pittsburgh’s interest in Rodgers “a joke.”

He added, “What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me?

“That guy needs to stay in California.

“Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

Rodgers reported to training camp last week ahead of what will likely be his last season in the NFL.

He was interviewed on NFL Network, and asked about Steelers franchise icon Bradshaw’s comments.

“Terry’s a legend,” Rodgers said. “He’s an absolute legend.

“He won four Super Bowls. He’s had a legendary career in the media.

“But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn’t know me.

“So, he’s got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I’ve done, the documentary, what I’ve said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about.”

Rodgers added, “I’d love to get to know Terry on a deeper level.

“And I feel like if he gave me a chance to get to know him then we’d have a good friendship.

“For me I have nothing but the utmost amount of respect and deference for what the greats have done.

“They laid the foundation for us to be able to play in this great game.”
