Dahlmeier, 31, has won two Olympic gold medals and seven world championship titles during her glittering career.
A rescue team was deployed but could not reach the biathlete until this morning.
However, they have been unable to reach her as of yet.
German reports have claimed that she is judged to be “least seriously injured.”
Dahlmeier’s management have released a statement revealing what is believed to have happened.
It read: “Laura Dahlmeier was climbing alpine style with her climbing partner on July 28th when she was hit by rockfall.
“The accident happened around noon local time at an altitude of approximately 5,700 meters.
“The climbing partner immediately called emergency services, and the rescue operation was initiated immediately.
“Due to the remoteness of the area, a rescue helicopter was unable to reach the scene until the morning of July 29.
“An international mountain rescue team is currently coordinating the rescue operation.
“They are being assisted by experienced international mountaineers in the region.”
