Actor Hiten Tejwani has been a part of the industry for over two decades. He is currently playing the role of Nitin in Colors TV’ Meri Bhavya Life, which is produced by Sunjoy Waddhwa’s Sphereorigins. He is also seen in the popular role of Karan Virani in Star Plus’ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Having seen it all, the actor shared the most valuable lesson he has learned from the entertainment industry. He said, “You have got to have patience. Luckily, I have that in me. But yes, I would say that’s the most valuable lesson I have learned. Because it is not always going to be a constant run. It is not necessary, or rather, not always possible, that you are always working, always busy, or always on the move. So, you have to be patient.”
“And more importantly, you have to learn how to utilise the time when you are not working. How do you do that? You spend time with your family, catch up on the things you have missed, or maybe even work on adding a new skill to yourself. So yes, I think that’s the real lesson,” he added.
With his kind of experience and maturity, he stressed that the common public doesn’t realise the efforts an actor puts into a role. He said, “You know, when you see something on-screen every day, you don’t always think about the 12 or 14 hours of hard work behind it. But the truth is, TV shows involve a lot of daily effort, and it’s not as easy as it looks.”
Talking about his ongoing show, he shared that for him, it’s easy to transition between his real and reel self. He said, “For me, it’s quite easy to separate the two. Of course, there might be some similarities. Sometimes I do add parts of myself to the character. For example, Nitin, the character I play, believes strongly in family and family values. He’s probably the head of the family, and he wants to set an example. Because honestly, if you are not doing what you are saying, then how will people believe you? That’s one thing we have in common. I also believe in leading by example and in putting family first. Nitin believes in that, and so do I.”
