The settlement relates to claims that comparison website QuoteWizard broke regulations by sending unsolicited telemarketing texts.

It is claimed that the site breached the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

This settlement benefits those whose numbers were on the National Do Not Call Registry and got more than one telemarketing text from QuoteWizard within any given 12 month period.

The class action lawsuit claims QuoteWizard violated the TCPA by contacting people on the National Do Not Call Registry without their consent.

QuoteWizard has not admitted any wrongdoing.

But the website has agreed to pay a $19 million class action settlement to resolve the claims.

The settlement sets out that anyone affected can get cash payments based on the number of texts they received.

Class members who received two texts can claim a minimum of $76.

Those who got more than two will receive $38 for each additional text.

So the exact payment sum will vary depending on the number of texts received and how many class members participate.

The deadline for exclusion and objection set for August 5, 2025, with a final approval hearing to be held on September 29.

No claim form is required to receive the benefits from this settlement, according to Top Class Actions.

Any class member who does not exclude themselves will automatically receive their share.

Elsewhere, millions of American motorists are due to be paid thousands of dollars following another data breach settlement.

The payments come as a result of retailer Advance Auto Parts agreeing to pay a class action lawsuit settlement.

This settlement has been put forward to resolve claims it failed to prevent a data breach relating to employees and job applicants.

Advance Auto Parts has not admitted to any wrongdoing, but the company has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the claims.

Those eligible have until October to claim as much as $5,200.
