Sophie Cunningham insists ‘she loves us’ after being spotted ‘jumping’ Indiana Fever teammate Sydney Colson

SOPHIE Cunningham insisted her teammate Sydney Colson loves her despite a bizarre exchange.

The Indiana Fever star and her teammate Lexie Hull appeared to team up on Colson.

But Cunningham insisted it was all good-natured fun between the WNBA stars.

A clip was posted on X showing Colson during pregame warm ups ahead of the clash with Seattle Storm.

It had the caption, “Syd just minding her business and her comes Sophie and Lexie.

“Lexie and Sophie jumped Syd.”

In the short clip, Colson was seen down on one knee tying her shoelace.

Hull and Cunningham then teamed up and both sat on her while she was crouched down.

Colson quickly got up and ran off to continue her pregame warmup.

And Cunningham responded to the video, “She loves us.”

The Indiana Fever team all appears to be on the same page after another win.

They recorded their fifth-straight victory with a 78-74 win over the Storm.

Indiana is missing the injured leader Caitlin Clark.

But their latest victory lifted them to 17-12 for the season.

Natasha Howard scored 21 points to lead the way for the Fever on Sunday.

Cunningham added 17 while Aliyah Boston had 16 with 12 rebounds.

Clark, meanwhile, missed her seventh straight game.

Fever coach Stephanie White said, “I think I said it early when Clark was out the very first time, while we don’t like it, sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise, because everybody else finds themselves.

“And no one is afraid to make the big play, offensively or defensively. We’ve got a really good group, that’s unselfish. That want to win.

“That play well together and for each other and when one person doesn’t have it, somebody else does.

“And I think it makes us really, really difficult to scout when that happens.”
