There were fears over whether he would return to the program he has fronted since 2009.

And the latest uncertainty facing the show surrounded a possible deal between ESPN and NFL Network.

The NFL and ESPN reached a deal that will give the league’s top media properties to the sports network, The Athletic reported.

In exchange, Roger Goodell’s NFL will receive ESPN’s equity “that is potentially worth billions,” the report added.

ESPN declined to comment on the report.

But throughout the offseason, the NFL and ESPN have been in heavy talks about a major deal.

The deal would give ESPN access to RedZone, NFL Network, and seven more regular-season games.

ESPN is also set to receive the NFL’s fantasy football operation, the possibility to merge special features, including betting, and potentially more resources.

But it threw into doubt whether RedZone would continue in it’s current form.

Hanson signed a new deal with NFL media this summer.

It remains to be seen if his role changes after a possible merger with ESPN.

But he sent a message to fans on X this weekend.

It read, “RZ fans: I hear you.

“See you in five Sundays.”

Hanson will be back on screen on Sunday September 7 for the first weekend of the new season.
