‘Absurd’ – Kelsey Plum calls out WNBA officiating in expletive-laden rant following Caitlin Clark controversy

LOS ANGELES SPARKS star Kelsey Plum put WNBA officials on full blast in an explosive expletive-laden tirade after the loss to the Golden State Valkyries.

The Sparks lost 89-81 on overtime at their Crypto.com Arena, which dropped their win-loss record to 3-7.

This comes after Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark’s confrontation with referees

And Plum, 30, was furious with the referees after the match, which handed Los Angeles their fourth defeat in their last five games.

The point guard passionately claimed there were specific instances in which she felt officials missed calls.

The three-time WNBA All-Star understood her rant could land her a hefty fine but decided to take the risk anyway.

Plum said: “I’m going to get fined for saying this, but I drive more than anyone in the league. So to shoot six free throws is f****** absurd.

“I got scratches on my face, I got scratches on my body and these guards on the other team get these ticky-tack fouls and I’m sick of it.

“I get fouled like that every possession. [Sparks ace] Rickea [Jackson] gets fouled like that in the post all the time and they don’t call it. I don’t know what else to do. But it’s really frustrating though.

“There are multiple shots at the end of the game, either going into the third, into the fourth, where they’re just coming and f****** swinging and they just don’t call anything.

“I don’t understand how that’s — six free throws. I’m playing 40 minutes, touching the paint on almost every play. It’s absurd. It’s absurd.

“So I’m saying I’ll get fined for that and that’s fine, but I mean — and I needed to make more shots like late-game — but they’re fouling the s*** out of me every single play. I’m very frustrated with that.

“And I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it. I don’t know what I need to do. I’ve talked to the refs nice, I pray before the game. Like, f***. I’m over it.”

This comes after fellow WNBA star Caitlin Clark appeared to express her own frustrations with the refs.

Indiana Fever superstar Clark, 23, watched her team lose to the Washington Mystics last month from the bench as she was dealing with a quad injury.

The point guard stepped onto the court at a timeout and was seen remonstrating with a referee over a decision.
