AMERICA’S Got Talent fans were left “speechless” following Wednesday night’s live show, as the Top 3 contestants weren’t who they expected.
Fans expressed their outrage on social media over the revelation that Chris Turner, Jessica Sanchez, and Mastermind made it through to the next round.

Each performed the night before in another effort to win over America’s votes: Chris with his freestyle rapping, Jessica with her singing voice, and Mastermind, with his AI magic act.
While they each received rave reviews from the judges – Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel – not everyone at home rooted for them to advance.
HEATED REACTIONS
X erupted with angry posts from viewers about what transpired, with some predicting this season might be “the worst ever.”
“Probably never been so shocked by a results night. Certainly a non-Finals result night. Nothing pointed to this result. Not talent level, not online traffic, nothing.
“This was a huge upset. I’m honestly speechless. This is building towards being 1 of the worst seasons ever,” one user complained.
“I completely agree! The two actual Vegas acts in the top 5 didn’t even go through. America needs their voting rights revoked,” another replied.
“Thing is – there could be a genuinely great final… but most the good acts aren’t making the final or semi’s so it’s all just a bit flat..” chimed in a third.
“I’m not joking, none of the acts that I voted for went through. I’m not a big fan of any of the three acts that went through tonight,” someone else said.
The episode followed its usual format of pairing the contestants in twos as they weeded out the ones with the fewest votes.
The winners of each still had a chance to advance into the semifinals and made the Top 5 of the night.
Joining Chris, Jessica, and Mastermind in those top slots were high-stakes roller-skating act Jacqueline & Wagner and juggling duo the Messoudi Brothers.
However, only three could advance to the semifinals, and host Terry Crews revealed the lucky trio during the last few moments of the episode.
Fans were even more shocked when Simon revealed he believed Jessica was the one to beat, despite delivering his Golden Buzzer to rapper Micah Palace during Tuesday’s show.
Jessica’s story moved viewers as she’s 8 months pregnant and is back on the show 19 years after she first auditioned.

Simon Cowell – On October 22, 2015, it was revealed Simon was replacing Howard Stern on the AGT judges panel. He became a judge during the program’s 11th season and has since remained a series regular.
Mel B – In March 2013, Mel B was announced as Sharon Osbourne’s replacement on AGT. She remained on the show for five seasons before leaving in 2018. She made her grand return this year for season 20.
Sofia Vergara – On February 27, 2020, NBC revealed Sofia was replacing Gabrielle Union for AGT season 15.
Howie Mandel – Out of all the panelists, Howie Mandel is the longest-tenured judge on America’s Got Talent. Howie joined the hit reality series during the show’s 5th season, replacing David Hasselhoff.
While she received a standing ovation from the live audience, even Howie voiced his concerns over her even making it to the finale before going into labor.
BUZZER UPROAR
Viewers also had mixed reactions after last week’s results saw the Leo High School Choir advance, despite many thinking their performance wasn’t as strong as the others.
They also shared their frustrations with judge Mel B for “wasting” her Golden Buzzer selection on rapper Mama Duke, sending her straight to the finals.
While Mama Duke was a favorite of the judges, many at home didn’t think she deserved the coveted slot, especially after only being the second contestant of the night to hit the stage.
As a result, fans threatened to boycott the show and revealed they weren’t looking forward to future episodes.
