Albert Breer mysteriously axed by Amazon for TNF live TV broadcasts and replaced by NFL insider

AMAZON has made a sudden change to its Thursday Night Football broadcast.

Albert Breer is out and Ian Rapoport is in as Prime Video’s NFL insider for Thursday Night Football.

On Thursday Rapoport revealed that he will be a part of the studio team for Thursday Night Football for the remainder of the season.

“So psyched to join the @NFLonPrime team all season long, beginning with tonight’s pre-game show at 7 pm ET,” he wrote on X.

Breer, who served as an insider for Prime Video last season, has scrubbed that title from his social media pages.

Amazon confirmed the move to Awful Announcing.

The rest of the Thursday Night Football team was left untouched.

Charissa Thompson remains the host of studio coverage with analysts Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Richard Sherman, and Andrew Whitworth alongside her.

Rapoport already has plenty of experience on NFL Network and also hosts his own daily show, The Insiders.

While it is a sudden change, there is some sense to Amazon’s decision making.

Rapoport is a much more recognizable face among NFL fans.

He boasts almost five million followers on X compared to Breer’s 667,000.

Outside of Adam Schefter, there is no more recognizable NFL insider than Rapoport.

Fans were thrilled to hear of Schefter’s addition to Thursday Night Football and shared in his X comments.

“Looking forward to watching,” one fan said.

“Awesome Ian! Your top notch reporting will be welcomed,” another fan said.
