Aldi is selling a Crock Pot dupe in the middle aisle that is 50% cheaper than the original

ALDI is becoming a household name in everything from groceries to home goods – so it comes as no surprise many of their items take the internet by storm.

One of the latest additions to the iconic middle aisle is a Crock Pot dupe that’s a whopping 50% cheaper than Target’s version.

At just $9.99, Aldi‘s Stainless Steel Slow Cooker is significantly more affordable than Crock Pot, which sells for $17.99 at the rival supermarket.

From homemade meals to delicious dips and sides, the cut-price slow cooker makes it easy to feed friends and family.

Because the slow cooker was only released a few days ago, product details on the website itself are scarce.

However, shoppers can see from the photo that there are three settings, including low, high, and warm.

Among the reviews, foodies noted that the settings are ideal for melting cheese for queso and similar snacks, as well as keeping a variety of delicious homemade dips warm, Yahoo! reported.

Because of its smaller size, the slow cooker is better suitable for preparing simpler meals.

The lower price point likely plays into the size – so although you may not be able to whip up bigger meals, for those who aren’t looking to prepare a mega feast, the purse-friendly cooker is worth it.

What’s more, a quick online search will also show you that larger crock pots range anywhere from $20 to $80.

This means that Aldi’s affordable option is half the cost of other slow cookers like the JC Penny version, which only holds 1.5 quarts.

Aldi’s can hold up to 2 quarts, and shoppers are all a big fan of the warming feature, which keeps dishes ready to eat, the publication reported.

While you may not necessarily need two crock pots or slow cookers, for the price of one big brand version, customers could buy several of the dupes to make up for the lack of cooking space.

‘NIGHTMARE’ checkout change

Recently, we reported that Aldi has launched a new checkout change that has made shopping trips slower.

People have called the change a “nightmare” online, while others think they know why it happened in the first place.

On the social media platform Reddit, an Aldi employee revealed that their local store has scrapped self-checkouts.

The user spoke about how useful they found the policy, especially if they only need things in the store.

How many Aldi stores are there in the US?

AS of May 12, 2025, there are 2,510 Aldi stores operating across 41 states and territories in the United States.

Florida leads with 244 locations, followed by Illinois (215), Ohio (170).

In 2025, the company plans to open 225 new stores.

But now, the convenience has been scrapped, and the shopper has been left “really bummed” as a result.

They wrote online: “I know not every Aldi even has self checkouts, the one by my house had it until yesterday and they were not going to be brought back according to the employee.

“I love the convenience of self check out especially when I’m making a quick stop and just need a few things I’ll skip the line and they actually had an easy to use POS system that made my trips easy and I never need help or employee assistance it’s just seamless.

“Now they’re gone and I’m really bummed about it.

“Aside from affordability of Aldi I love how easy it is most days to get in and out in a flash.”

In the comments, many mourned the loss of self-checkout machines in their local Aldi stores, too.

One person went as far as to call the change a “nightmare”.

They wrote: “They’re rumored to be going away in my area as a result of loss due to theft.

“This would be a dramatic shift for our stores though in terms of staffing, daily logistics, etc. Seems like a nightmare of a change.”
