Alex Cooper left stunned by ‘brutal’ crowd reaction to seventh-inning stretch rendition at Chicago Cubs – ‘so bad’

PODCAST star Alex Cooper was booed by fans as she tried to sing a famous baseball song.

Cooper, 30, was accused of “making a mockery” out of one of the sport’s great traditions.

Fans described her performance as “so bad” and she was brutally booed.

The podcaster sang “take me out to the ballgame” in Sunday’s game at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

The song is often performed late at MLB ball parks across the US, and is known as the seventh-inning stretch.

Cooper took the microphone during Sunday’s game.

The Chicago Cubs took on their rivals the St Louis Cardinals.

The game took place on Fourth of July weekend.

And there was even more attention on it with ESPN broadcasting live from Wrigley Field.

Cooper was drafted in for her star power given the added interest.

But she was booed before she could even finish her rendition.

“Any random fan at the game would have been 100x better,” one fan said. “What a joke.”

Another tweeted,” You know it’s bad when you get booed during the stretch.

“Most get booed for a bad rendition of the National Anthem, but this is pathetic.”

While a third said, “I could only listen like 2 seconds. Disappointed in Cubs giving them airtime and publicity.”

And one more commented, “Maybe let somebody who can sing do that.”

Cooper shot to fame on Barstool Sports show “Call Her Daddy.”

She signed a three-year deal with Spotify in 2021 worth $60 million.

And, last August, Cooper saw her earnings double in a new three-year deal worth $125 million.

Cooper released a documentary named “Call Her Alex” on Hulu last month.

But fans who were unaware of her before Sunday’s game were left with a bad impression.

“Not funny, not cool,” one concluded.
