Andy Reid breaks silence over Travis Kelce’s latest sideline meltdown as Kansas City Chiefs star is fined by NFL

ANDY Reid has broken his silence on his fiery sideline row with Travis Kelce during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Sunday Night Football win in Week 3.

The 10-time Pro Bowl tight end had been fined a day before the Chiefs’ 22-9 road win over the New York Giants.

Kelce had yet another disappointing performance, recording four receptions for a measly 26 yards.

The Chiefs also struggled once again on offense, and Reid made sure to get Kelce’s attention after a poor play.

As Kelce walked off the field at MetLife Stadium after a play, Reid was spotted screaming at his player.

But Kelce then gave Reid a mouthful as the 65-year-old then crashed into him before the two continued to exchange words.

The NBC cameras captured the heated argument, which Reid addressed in the postgame press conference and played down.

“He’s a passionate guy and I love that part,” Reid said.

“I’ve been through a lot of things with him, that’s all part of it.

“I love that he loves to play the game, that’s what I love.

“And it’s an emotional game, so I’ll take it.”

Kelce and Reid’s back-and-forth comes 18 months after the tight end famously bumped the coach on the sideline during Super Bowl 58.

The recent spat occurred during the first half when Kelce had just two catches for four years.

The 0-2 Kansas City squad had kicked two field goals and were up 6-0 against the Giants, who also entered the game winless.

The Chiefs had a 9-6 lead at halftime, but would finally score not one but two touchdowns to claim the 22-9 win.

Kansas City finally earned its first victory of the season, but there are still plenty of question marks surrounding the franchise.

The Chiefs’ offense has continued to struggle without its two top receivers, Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy.

Kelce is still on pace for career lows in catches and yards.

He’s coming off a game in which he recorded just four receptions for 64 yards and received a $14,491 fine over an “obscene” gesture that resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

And Mahomes recorded a completion percentage under 60 percent for the second straight game.
