Andy Reid gives major update over Xavier Worthy’s injury which has huge implications for Kansas City Chiefs season

XAVIER Worthy is beginning rehab after suffering a Week 1 shoulder injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver collided with Travis Kelce and missed most of the Brazil game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

After the injury, the Chiefs aren’t exactly sure when Worthy might be available again.

Head coach Andy Reid shared with reporters as much information as he could on Monday.

“So, as far as the injuries go, I know Xavier’s going to be the big question,” Reid said.

“He’s rehabbing and working his shoulder, we’ll just see where it goes.

“Day-by-day here, see where we end up.”

Without Worthy in the game, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown took over much of the action.

He caught 10 passes for 99 yards.

The Chiefs were without Rashee Rice due to his suspension and rookie Jalen Royals due to an injury as well.

However, Royals could return to contribute sooner rather than later.

“Jalen’s doing a good job with his rehab,” Reid said.

“Again, we’ll just see how that ends up this week.

“We’ve got a couple days here that we’ve had, so guys are making good progress in that.

“We’ll see. If neither play, we’ve got the guys we played with the other night that are good football players.”

The Chiefs will need all they help they can get with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles coming to town.

Kansas City is already 0-1 this season and in last place in the AFC West.

They risk falling even further behind with a loss next week.

Getting their playmakers back and healthy will be the utmost priority.

However, the team won’t be at full strength until Rice’s return in Week 7.
