ANDY Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs have made a rare decision over the team’s practice return date.
The change to the Chiefs‘ return date to prepare for the upcoming season will affect the team’s veterans, including Travis Kelce.

Training camp begins for all 32 teams later this month.
The Chiefs decided that they will join eight other teams to have both rookies and veterans report on the first day of training camp.
The first training camp session will be on Monday, July 21.
The Chiefs also joined a new trend, as it was revealed last month that they will eliminate an extra week of training camp.
The extra week included three practices for rookies and quarterbacks, which allows the players and coaches another week of rest.
Patrick Mahomes revealed his approval of the modified training camp schedule.
“I’ll spend as much time [as I can] with my family,” the 29-year-old said last month, per SB Nation’s Arrowhead Pride.
“[I’ll] kind of stay in shape as best as possible and be ready to go whenever we step on that football field in St. Joe.”
Reid explained his decision, which he says makes sense for this year’s team.
“We don’t have a lot of guys that we could bring there,” the 67-year-old said,” so I didn’t feel like that was a valuable time.
“We got the rookies here with extra time, so we took advantage of that – [and] we’ve done that throughout the offseason program.
“So I thought we got accomplished.
“So I thought we got accomplished what we needed to.”
The Chiefs’ training camp takes place at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

The last day of training camp is on Wednesday, August 13.
The Chiefs are coming off a brutal Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
They were seeking a three-peat but lost 40-22 in a Super Bowl repeat with the Eagles.
They’ll hope to bounce back in the upcoming campaign and get ready for their Week 1 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil on September 5.
