Today marks another poignant occasion where we come together to celebrate and express our heartfelt gratitude to the mentors and teachers who have significantly shaped our journeys. Their invaluable guidance and unwavering support have illuminated our paths, enriching our lives with knowledge and insights that have propelled us forward. Today, 10 July, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, we have actress Priya Thakur expressing her gratitude to the mentor in her life.
Priya Thakur, who essays the role of Vasudha in Zee TV’s Vasudha, says, “This Guru Purnima, my heart is filled with gratitude for the mentor who helped me grow far beyond what I believed I was capable of — my Producer and Director Arvind Babbal ji. He did not just guide me through the complexities of portraying Vasudha; he helped me explore uncharted depths within myself. One of the most transformative moments came during a shoot. The scene wasn’t working, and I could feel doubt creeping in. Instead of giving me notes or criticism, he just sat beside me, quietly asked questions, and held space for me to find the truth in the character. That day, I didn’t just understand the scene better—I understood my character and her layers better. He believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. He’s been a true mentor who not only shaped the performance, he helped shape the person behind it.”
She goes on to say, “On this day that honours our teachers, I am filled with gratitude for the guidance that helped me become who I am, both on and off the screen.”
