Three people are behind bars after an assault case from last week turned into a murder case.

The Project Prison Reset task force met to discuss prison locations, hear public comments and come up with a proposal for the legislature. After the site options were presented, the committee voted for Mitchell and Worthing to be removed.

Authorities have identified the man who was shot by police Monday night as 23-year-old Deondre Black Hawk. He was wanted on three felony warrants involving drugs and a burglary. Police said he was also believed to be a suspect in a Sunday shooting.

The latest outlook for severe weather today targets much of central and western SD. We expect a broken line of storms to fire in western SD late this afternoon.
