Inside Kelly Clarkson & Brandon Blackstock’s bitter divorce as exes fought over money & Montana ranch before his death
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock were locked in a bitter divorce battle over money and their massive Montana ranch in the years before his death.
The former music manager, who spent his last years as a rancher in Montana, also fought the pop star for custody of their two kids, River and Remington, during their years-long court war.

Despite the acrimonious split, it appeared Kelly, 43, made amends with Brandon as she reportedly cared for him during his battle with melanoma before he tragically passed away at 48.
However, their reconciliation took years to reach following a years-long divorce battle.
Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon in June 2020, where she cited “irreconcilable differences” and later admitted she “didn’t see” the split coming.
On her daytime program, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly spent the following months seemingly taking jabs at her ex through various comments and through emotional performances of her signature segment, Kellyoke.
“2020 has been a dumpster fire,” Kelly said during her show’s season premiere that year which was filmed just two months after she filed for divorce.
“2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.
“But what I’m dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts.
“You know, we have four kids and divorce is never easy, and we’re both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts,” the Grammy-winner added.
The couple, who first wed in 2013, continued to battle over their estates, as well as custody, for the next two years.
Both Brandon and Kelly initially filed to seek full primary custody of their children during the divorce proceedings.
Ultimately, the divorce ended up granting primary physical custody to Kelly after she cited “issues of trust” of co-parenting with Brandon.
However, Brandon was granted visitation rights on the first and last weekends of each month in Los Angeles, where the family previously resided, as well as the third weekend on his Montana ranch.
The court also granted Brandon daily FaceTime calls and time during the holidays, documents state.
MONEY WAR
During their divorce proceedings, Kelly made bombshell accusations about Brandon’s handling of their money and her career.
Brandon, who is the son of music powerhouse Narvel Blackstock, served as Kelly’s manager for years and oversaw her transition from Nashville to Los Angeles to skyrocket her TV career.
He helped negotiate the deal that landed her The Kelly Clarkson show as well as a spot on The Voice.
However, in December 2020, six months after she filed for divorce, Kelly claimed her ex had acted fraudulently as her manager.

In court documents filed at the time, Kelly described her partnership with Starstruck, the talent agency Brandon worked for, as a “fraudulent and subterfuge device” for their “illegal services” as unlicensed agents.
The documents were filed in a countersuit to Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, after claims that Kelly owed the company over $1.4 million and would continue to owe them from her talk show and The Voice earnings even though she was no longer represented by Starstruck.
Kelly doubled down, alleging Brandon had been “demanding unconscionable fees,” “acting in conflict of interest” with her, and “giving false information and/or making false representations.”
Even though they were still in their manager lawsuit dispute, the couple’s divorce was finally settled in March 2022, but ended up costing the pop superstar a fortune.
She was ordered to pay Brandon over $1.3million, along with $45,601 per month in child support and a staggering $115,000 a month in spousal support, according to court documents.
This was all while they continued to fight over their financial empire.
THE BATTLE CONTINUES
In November 2023, the California Labor Commissioner ruled in Kelly’s favor, ordering Brandon to repay her over $2.6 million in commissions he “unlawfully collected” from various deals, including her role on The Voice as well as multiple endorsements.
However, the following month, Brandon and Starstruck challenged the ruling and appealed the decision – requesting a new trial in court.
In May 2024, Kelly and Brandon reached a confidential settlement on the Starstruck dispute and requested a dismissal of their respective cases.
The details of the settlement have not been made public as both parties agreed to keep the matter private and avoid going to trial.
BIG SKY, BIG PROBLEMS
Their differences also included a bitter battle over the couple’s $17 million Montana ranch – where both parties tried to claim ownership during the divorce proceedings.

Originally, the court awarded Kelly ownership of the sprawling property and Brandon was given just 5.12% of ownership share, which was valued at $908,800 at the time, records state.
Brandon attempted to gain full ownership of the property however, due to their iron-clad prenup, it remained in Kelly’s possession.
Despite Kelly maintaining ownership of the property, Brandon continued to live there in his final years.
He moved out of Los Angeles and became a full-time rancher on their Montana property and made a name for himself at nearby rodeos.
Meanwhile, Kelly and their two kids moved from California to New York City as she relocated her talk show to the Big Apple.
SIGNS OF TROUBLE
Kelly took multiple leave of absence’s this year and while at the time, it was not publicly clear what the family was battling, it appeared she had been taking care of Brandon.
Multiple sources told PageSix that Kelly helped care for her ex as he privately battled melanoma cancer.
“It’s been exhausting and so sad. Kelly has been working so hard, as well as looking after Brandon.
“Despite their difficult divorce, he’s still the man she loved and still her kids’ father,” an insider claimed.
On Wednesday, Kelly announced she was canceling the remainder of her August dates for her Las Vegas residency shows as Brandon battled a “serious illness.”
She did not reveal he had passed though, and it is currently unclear what day Brandon died.
Fans have been flocking to Kelly’s social media pages offering their condolences for her great loss however, she has still not yet publicly commented on Brandon’s death.

Costco’s sorbet sells out AGAIN after going viral on TikTok – shoppers praise ‘I could eat a whole box in one sitting’
FOODIES have been raving about a tasty treat from Costco – the only problem is it keeps selling out.
Shoppers have been waiting in anticipation to get their hands on the viral Island Way Sorbet Variety Pack, which comes with four different flavors.

The sorbet is served in “natural fruit shells” and each box includes three of each flavor.
There’s Heavenly Coconut, Red Berry & Ruby Grapefruit, Passionate Mango, and Zesty Pomegranate – so there’s sure to be something everyone will love.
In fact, one shopper joked they had waited six whole years to get their hands on the snacks.
Posting on TikTok, the user @simply.nae admitted the deserts were well worth the wait.
“I could eat the whole box in one sitting,” they captioned a video of them digging in to one of the fruity treats.
It’s no wonder the snacks are so popular, at just 70 – 170 calories per portion they’re a great alternative to ice cream and other desserts.
Not only that, but they’re gluten free too.
After showing off the snack on TikTok other Costco fans agreed they’re worth the wait.
One commented: “They’re amazing!”
A second agreed: “Omg I love those.”
Meanwhile, others debated which flavor is the best, with one person stating they loved Coconut, and another insisting pomegranate comes out on top.
“I think you took the last ones, where did you get them?” another foodie enquired.
The TikTok user confirmed they got their hands on the snack from Costco, but didn’t specify which branch had them in stock.
Of course, the sorbet isn’t the only reason to pay a visit to Costco though, food fans were recently thrilled over a brand new addition to the deli area this summer.
The BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon caught the attention of Costco shoppers on Facebook, and it’s easy to see why.
Included in the dish was the famous Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken sliced up and topped with a BBQ sauce.
There’s also a rich Cavatappi pasta base with a cheesy sauce and shredded cheese on top along with savory bacon crumbles.
A price was listed at $17.06 for a 3.8-pound package that’s ready to be heated up in the oven and eaten.
The unit cost was $4.49 per pound, although prices will likely vary by Costco location and state.
It’s a listing slightly more than the old macaroni and cheese platter that the retailer has sold in the past, which was always $3.49 per pound.
Overall, the pricing for the BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon is not terrible considering it doesn’t require any prep or cooking and has both chicken and bacon.
Additionally, some who have made their own versions of the dish not only had to make most of it from scratch, but it cost $36.
“Mac and cheese tray, a rotisserie chicken, a bag of bacon bits, and a big bag of garden salsa chips,” wrote innovative Costco member, Mary, in a June Facebook post.

Blood-soaked girl, 5, runs for help after watching dad kill her mom, grandma, aunt & himself in family massacre
A FIVE-year-old girl ran for help drenched in blood after witnessing her dad shoot three of her family members before turning the gun on himself.
In a horrific case of murder-suicide, Christopher Bobby Rowell, 34, shot dead the girl’s mom, grandma, aunt and himself at a home in Nassau County, Florida.

Cops said they were alerted to the incident when the young girl showed up at a neighbor’s house covered in blood after witnessing the horrendous attack.
The victims were later identified as the child’s mom, mother Marissa Leara Rowell, 32, grandma, Sandra Gayle Fogarty, 71, and aunt Alisha Lael Fogarty, 33.
They had all been at the Florida home when Rowell launched his deadly assault at around 8pm on July 24.
Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper told a news conference the child, known as Winter, was in the back of the house when she heard a gunshot.
She walked down the hallway to see what was going on when a woman grabbed her and pushed her into a nearby bathroom.
Winter was then splattered with the woman’s blood, who was shot just moments after bravely saving the child.
When authorities arrived, they found one woman’s body lying lifeless in a pool of blood between the living and dining room.
A second woman was discovered dead in a bathroom, while a third was found shot in a bedroom.
Rowell was still alive but later died in hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, cops said.
Speaking to First Coast News, Melissa’s cousin said the victim had been planning to leave her violent husband and was in the process of buying a house.
He added: “I was at work listening to the radio and I had heard the shooter’s name and as soon as I heard his name, my heart just skipped, I knew instantly.”
A GoFundMe page has since been set up to help with the cost of funeral arrangements and care for the child who – in a matter of minutes – was left orphaned.
Fundraiser Dane Antkowiak said: “This child now faces a future without the warmth and loving support of her family, and we are committed to ensuring she receives the care and love she needs to heal from this traumatic incident.”
In a heartbreaking tribute to the three victims, Dane highlighted the trio’s devotion to the young girl and the “joy and love” they brought to everyone around them.
He said: “We are heartbroken and devastated to share the tragic news of the loss of a beloved mother,
“Grandmother, and aunt, who were taken from us and our 5-year-old niece Winter far too soon in a senseless act of violence.”
The devastating attack comes as a sadistic survivalist who killed an entire family after breaking into their home was found dead after a four-month manhunt.
Chilling TikTok videos of the mass murderer, posted in the weeks following the attack, showed him laughing maniacally at the camera while wearing a creepy clown mask.
Alexander Meisner, a 61-year-old Kazakh national, massacred an entire German family including a teenager and his parents.
Meisner, himself a dad-of-five and grandfather, entered the Schulze family home in the Rhineland village of Weitefeld in the early hours of April 6.
He carried out the evil assault in the dead of night armed with a knife and a gun.
