UFC legend Ronda Rousey announces private health battle after gruelling career leaves her with traumatic injuries
UFC legend Ronda Rousey has announced she is fighting a private health battle.
The MMA icon had a gruelling career that has now left her with traumatic long-term injuries.

The 38-year-old was the first female champion in UFC history and defended her title six time.
She retired in 2016 and moved to appear in the WWE and Hollywood acting roles.
Rousey‘s UFC run ended with back-to-back defeats to Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm.
And the bantamweight queen has revealed she is still suffering the aftereffects of the Octagon.
The mom-of-two has told of her long-term medical issues, including temporary spells of blindness.
“Two of my triggers (are) bright lights and head impacts,” she told Untapped.
“So I’d get hit and I’d basically lose big chunks of my vision and my depth perception and my ability to track movements quickly and make snap decisions.
“Basically all the things that I need and I thought I have a concussion.
“I’m out on my feet, but I wouldn’t be stumbling around. I didn’t lose my balance.
“This was like, I had to retire because this kept happening to me more and more often to the point where I would get a jab and I would basically go blind.”
Rousey also revealed she has consulted doctors to help with her neurological issues.
It is understood she believes the concerns that date to suffering concussions, including from her judo days.
“I don’t have any regrets or anything like that,” she added.
“Fortunately, I have a lot more information now about what was going on with me.

“I just felt like I couldn’t be honest about what I was physically going through without people feeling like I was making excuses for myself.
“I also feel like I didn’t owe anyone any explanation especially if they were going to s*** all over it.
“So yeah, I needed to figure out what was going on first.
“Dana sent me to this long-term fighters’ neurological study and they actually made some, I wouldn’t call them breakthroughs, but actually were able to diagnose a lot of the stuff that was going on with me and I guess still is.
“I just didn’t have all the information at that time.
“So, I couldn’t hand that information to me then to explain things better now, so no, I don’t dwell on that at all. It was the best I could do with what I had.”
Rousey – nicknamed Rowdy – won gold in judo at the 2008 Beijing Olympics before her MMA career.

Costco members spot free food court change that ‘eliminates confusion’ – but it’s only available to select shoppers
COSTCO members have praised an “awesome” change to the food court, but only select shoppers can make use of it.
The recent addition to one of the warehouse retailer’s most beloved areas gives extra comfort to shoppers, but only those in a select US county.

It was revealed that Costco has added an awning for customers to stand under while waiting in line at the food court.
An image uploaded to the social media site Reddit shows off the shade in all its glory.
It’s said that the awning is there to direct customers into a single-file line, instead of multiple ones.
This creates less chaos at the Costco food court.
The caption of the post said: “Huzzah! Costco added a sun shade for customers.”
However, the top comment revealed that this awning has only been put in place at one Costco in California.
Those who live in Ventura County can find the shade there, and every other shopper is out of luck.
The comment revealed: “This Costco is in Ventura County, CA and has an outdoor food court.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been here and it looks like they’ve added a relatively new sun shade and are directing customers into a single line (instead of the typical multiple lines at the windows).
“Super happy they did this.
“It eliminates confusion about which line is which (versus people just waiting nearby) and the sun gets brutally hot out here, so it’s nice to be shaded.”
COSTCO PRAISED
Other comments praised the move, with people saying that it actually helped them survive the heat and stay at the Costco.
One person wrote: “Recently drove past the close Costco to get to the farther away Costco because I had to make a return and I knew the farther away Costco has the overhang providing shade.
“Worth it as the return line took about 20 minutes in 100 degree weather.
Costco classic food court items
- Hot Dog with Soda – $1.50
- Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza slice – $1.99
- Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad – $6.99
- Turkey and Swiss Sandwich – $6.99
- Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie – $2.49
“No way I could have done that out in the sun.”
Another focused on the outdoor food court itself.
The comment read: “Outdoor food court? That’s awesome
And a third expressed how jealous they were that this Costco had an outdoor food court at all.
They added: “Man what I’d give for an outdoor Costco food court here.
“Just imagine being able to pop over for a quick hot dog without having to fight the regular shopping mobs inside!”
