WNBA star Kelsey Plum triggers on-court bust-up with ‘dirty’ move as she’s slammed by fans during Sparks-Valkyries
KELSEY Plum baffled fans with a hard foul during her game on Saturday night.
The LA Sparks lost to the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday night, but Plum did everything in her power to stop it.

That included a hard foul on Golden State’s Veronica Burton in the fourth quarter of the game.
With Burton going 1-on-1 against Plum, she appeared to get past her with a quick move to get to the rim.
However, instead of adjusting her defense, Plum stuck out her leg to kick out Burton’s ankle and stop the play.
Plum also fell down after the kick, and was quickly confronted by an agnry Burton.
The two were split up by teammates, but the damage was already done.
Plum was assessed a flagrant one foul, saving her from being ejected from the game.
However she did enough damage to warrant one, according to fans watching the game.
“Kelsey Plum may be the worst person in the @WNBA,” one fan said.
“Kick was soo blatant smh,” another fan said.
“Dirtiest player in the WNBA… Kelsey Plum,” a third fan said.
“Kelsey Plum used to be a great all-around player. Since the trade to LA, she’s been a freaking joke,” a fourth fan said.
“Plum is one of the most unlikable players in the W,” a fifth fan said.
After Plum’s controversial kick, the Sparks went on to lose the game 72-59.
The team’s head coach, Lynne Roberts, did some damage control after the game to save face for Plum following the flagrant foul.
“She was trying to kick the ball,” Roberts said.

Costco workers fume newest store policy change is ‘disrupting our lives’ as they beg shoppers to have ‘dose of patience’
COSTCO employees have taken issue with one of the store’s most recent policy changes, complaining that it has made a mess of their lives.
As Costco workers adjust to the retailer’s new hours, they are pleading with members to have some patience on their shopping trips.

Costco, similar to rivals Sam’s Club and BJ’s, is a membership-based warehouse club, meaning that shoppers are subject to a slew of rules each time they step foot on the premises.
One of the retailer’s most recent policy updates pertains to its hours, with Costco extending its hours for shoppers in its premium Executive tier membership, opening at 9 am for them as of June 30.
While some members have praised the new schedule, Costco workers are not too fond of the change, complaining that it has caused many complications for them.
Costco employee Holly Dickey White shared her concerns about the change right before it rolled out in a Facebook post on June 29, complaining that workers were not given any say in the new hours and found out at the same time as customers.
“I understand it’s ‘just an hour,’ but for a lot of employees, it is making life difficult, getting kids to school or babysitters,” wrote White.
“If you are caring for an elderly member of your family. It is disrupting our lives!! We will all be stretched thin,” she said, noting that no new staff was hired to cover the extra hours.
Because she expected the reworked schedule to be so hard on Costco’s workers, White begged members to show them some grace.
“For the near future, please be kind to our Costco employees. We have a lot of our plates (that we didn’t ask for) and we are trying very hard to have good attitudes about it while taking care of our members,” she wrote.
“Greet us with a Smile, it will help, I PROMISE!! Bring a dose of patience, a smile and if you are feeling it, a kind word, you will make someone’s day!”
When Costco announced the new hours change in a tongue-in-cheek Facebook reel, shoppers similarly shared their grievances about the policy.
Many complained that, while Costco was opening early at 9 am, Sam’s Club opened at 8 am for executive members.
“I’m already in and out of Sam’s club by 9 am!” wrote one shopper, as another vented that 9 am was a “very impractical” time for them to shop, as they were already at work.
SHOPPING SHIFT
Costco’s Executive shoppers, who pay $130 annually for their membership, make up less than half of the retailer’s total membership but account for 73% of its sales, per company data.
This means that Executive members generally spend more money during each shopping trip and potentially make more frequent purchases at Costco than other members.

“Our Executive members are our most loyal members, and we want to reward them for their commitment to Costco,” the company told Business Insider.
Costco made a move to permit Executive members to enter the warehouse club prior to Gold Star or Business members, opening exclusively for them from 9 am to 10 am on weekdays and Sundays.
On Saturdays, the top-paying members can have Costco all to themselves from 9 am to 9:30 am, 30 minutes before everyone else.
Costco also announced it would stay open one hour later on Saturdays, until 7 pm, for all customers.
The chain previously offering extended shopping hours for its premium members but slowly phased it out.
Costco move to revive the hours perk rivals Sam’s Club’s early hours policy for its Plus members, which allows the chain’s premium members to enter the store two hours before everyone else on weekdays between 8 am and 10 am.
As Costco workers adjust to the chain’s new hours, the retailer is being told to “join this century” over three checkout policy problems as members go to a rival that’s better in “all aspects.”
Meanwhile, Costco’s sorbet sold out again after going viral on TikTok – shoppers praise “I could eat a whole box in one sitting.”

Verizon shopper fuming after telephone company confirmed huge change to loyalty discounts – bill is ‘going up $70’
A VERIZON shopper has been left fuming after the telephone company confirmed a huge change to its loyalty discounts.
The angry customer took to the social media platform Reddit to share the news.

The news was broken to the customer over email, revealing to them that their loyalty discounts would be discontinued, meaning the bill would increase by $70.
They said: “Just got sent an email it seems many of you got as well, that my loyalty discount of $20 and $10 per line are being discontinued Sep. 1.
“And they still have no plans to change this?”
In the comments of the post, many took the time to share their Verizon price rise stories, as well as vent about the company.
One person wrote: “Very much two Verizon personalities.
“You get a CEO email saying they are listening to customers and ‘doing better’ and ‘raising the bar’.
“Then about a week later you get a message saying they are raising prices again.
“It’s like Verizon doesn’t even know what to do with itself.”
Another added: “This whole 3 year price guarantee is such a crock.
“Only lock is on the phone plans didn’t mention anything about fees and connected devices.
“What a joke. This is coming from a former 10yr retail employee.”
And a third said: “I had to change my plans because my “old” plan from 2023? was no longer eligible to keep autopay discounts of $10/line.
“So really they are raising prices on plans, as new ones dropped a ton of perks in order to keep the auto pay discount.
“They are raising prices from plans to fees and dropping discounts.”
The US Sun has contacted Verizon for comment on the price hikes, but did not hear back right away.
VERIZON PRICE HIKES
Costs at Verizon have increased for many customers and have mainly impacted a certain group.
The price hikes have mainly affected those with five or more lines on select plans.
Those using the New Verizon Plans, which are no longer available, have also seen price hikes.
Back in February, customers using myPlan accounts at Verizon with five or more lines saw a monthly $3 per line increase.
If you had a multi-phone line account, your rate went up $15 every month.
Your data fees also increased from $15 to $20 per gigabyte.
In a statement, Verizon said: “We can confirm we’ve adjusted pricing on some mobile plans for select customers.
“Verizon is committed to delivering unparalleled network reliability, experiences and choices our customers love and expect.
“These price adjustments allow us to continue to provide our customers top-tier products and services, with a focus on ultra-reliable connectivity.”

Donald Trump ‘readies 1,000 National Guard to go into DC’ in new crime crackdown and blasts we ‘want our capital back’

PRESIDENT Donald Trump is preparing to deploy up to 1,000 National Guard troops to Washington, DC, as part of a sweeping crackdown on crime and homelessness, according to reports.
The president will hold a press conference at 10:00 am and is expected to reveal measures aimed at tightening federal control over the capital.

It follows a surge in federal law enforcement patrols across the city in recent days, a move that has already sparked pushback from DC. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Trump has vowed to make the district “safer and more beautiful than it ever was before,” comparing the effort to his aggressive border security approach.
A US official told NewsNation overnight that preparations were underway for the possible arrival of hundreds of National Guard troops.
A spokesperson for the DC National Guard stressed that no official orders had been given.
“We remain committed to providing trained and ready forces capable of providing support when called upon,” the spokesperson said.
On Sunday, Trump blasted the capital’s current state on social media, claiming that “before the tents, squalor, filth, and Crime, it was the most beautiful Capital in the World.”
Federal agencies have already ramped up their presence, with 450 officers patrolling tourist areas by Saturday night.
Those patrols led to multiple arrests, including suspects accused of carrying firearms without a license.
DC police data shows violent crime has actually dropped 26% compared to the same period last year.
Bowser argued the drop is due to community policing, cooperation with prosecutors, and targeted efforts since a spike in 2023.
“This is not 2023, this is 2025,” Bowser said on MSNBC, calling Trump’s expanded enforcement “not the most efficient use of our Guard.”
She suggested the focus should instead be on hiring prosecutors and judges and improving the city jail.
Bowser acknowledged that the president holds the power to deploy the Guard, but said none of the legal conditions for federal control currently exist.
Her comments come after Trump threatened to “federalize” the city following an attack on former Department of Government Efficiency staffer Edward Coristine, nicknamed “Big Balls,” during an attempted carjacking.
Two 15-year-olds were arrested in that case, with police searching for more suspects.
“We’re going to have to federalize DC and run it the way it’s supposed to be run,” Trump said on Truth Social last week.
He told reporters he would not rule out quickly bringing in the National Guard.
Trump has also floated the idea of stripping DC of its home rule, which has been in place since 1973, a move that would require congressional approval and likely face major opposition.
Bowser said the president can take greater control of the city’s police under certain circumstances, but insisted those conditions have not been met.
