He believes that Cunha is one of the “most productive” players in the country.

Wilcox said: “Bringing in Matheus was one of our main priorities for this summer, so we are delighted to have completed his signing so early in the window.

“He has proved his ability to succeed in the Premier League as one of the most exciting and productive forwards in England during his time at Wolves, and before that in Spain and Germany.

“He has all the qualities we are looking for as we seek to build a strong, dynamic and entertaining team capable of challenging for the biggest honours.”

Speaking about the move, Cunha insisted he is hoping to become a vital player at Old Trafford.

BBC announces new Doctor Who series – but with a huge twist

THE BBC have announced a new Doctor Who series – but there is a huge twist.

Fans were left stunned last month when bosses replaced Ncuuti Gatwa with former star Billie Piper in a shock series ending.

Fans were left shocked when he regenerated at the end of the last episode[/caption]

Billie Piper made a surprising return as the new Dr Who

Piper, 42, is a fan favourite on the long-running BBC series, and originally played sidekick Rose Tyler to Christopher Ecclestone’s Doctor back in 2005.

Fans were therefore shocked to see her make a surprising return as outgoing Gatwa‘s Dr Who regenerated to reveal Piper as the new doc.

Gatwa, 32, the show’s 15th Doctor, left after just two series, amid widespread reports of plunging ratings and doubts over its future linked to woke storylines.

It is unclear if Piper’s role will be a permanent move.

Her character remained with David Tennant‘s Tenth Doctor, before becoming trapped in a parallel world.

Showrunner Russell T Davies said it was “an honour and a hoot” to welcome Billie back to the show, though also played coy when it came to what this means for the Time Lord going forward.

Instead, he just noted: “After 62 years, the Doctor’s adventures are only just beginning!”

And now the BBC is set to expand the Whoniverse as it launches plans for a brand new pre-school animation series which will see the Doctor’s adventures come to CBeebies for the first time ever.

The BBC is looking for a passionate production company to create and produce the series, which will run independently from the main show.

It will see the Doctor travelling through time and space for the pre-school audience, solving mysteries and problems alongside their companions and other friends.

And, of course, they may come up against one or two challenges on their way.

Speaking about the plans, Patricia Hidalgo, Director of Children’s and Education said: “Everyone is welcome at CBeebies, including the Doctor!

“This much-loved franchise entertains millions around the world, so it is only right that our younger audience get to experience the wonder and the magic of the Doctor in a brand new format.

“This is an extremely exciting opportunity, and we are looking forward to welcoming companies to pitch for this new project, as we continue our commitment and investment in the UK’s animation industry.”

Meanwhile, insiders say Billie Piper’s shock return at the end of the latest series was understood to be teeing up a comeback for David Tennant as the Time Lord for a one-off special.

A source said: “The BBC brought Doctor Who back in 2005 and there is talk about a possible one-off project to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

“David and Billie were a hugely popular partnership and he brought in a golden age of Doctor Who.

“With the anniversary of the reboot this year there have been some ideas floated about, with the thought of maybe bringing David and Billie back together for one last hurrah.

“When David’s Doctor bi-generated in the 60th anniversary special, his ‘half’ went on to live a normal life in an alternative universe while Ncuti Gatwa’s carried on as the Time Lord.

“It wouldn’t be beyond the realms of imagination for him to return with Billie as Rose for a one-off special to celebrate not only their partnership but the anniversary of BBC bringing back Doctor Who.”

David, 54, played the tenth version of the Time Lord for five years until 2010.

In a twist, he then returned as the 14th Doctor for three specials before handing the role over to Ncuti.

The Sun revealed last month that Ncuti, 31, was leaving the Tardis.

And after the final episode, Ncuti said: “I’ve loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have.

“I’ll truly miss it, and forever be grateful.”

Doctor Who’s future is still undecided, with the BBC now waiting to see if Disney+ — which pumped millions of pounds into the show — will renew its deal.

Ratings for the sci-fi staple have plummeted since Tennant left, with overnight peak viewing figures dropping as low as 1.6million.

Many fans of the show complained it had gone “woke”.

Meanwhile, Whovians are waiting to see if Billie is the new, 16th Doctor or is sidekick Rose again.

Shame we can’t jump in a Tardis and find out as only time will tell.

And you can enjoy the bolster pillows at the side to give you extra support when using it.

It’s now selling for $299 from $499 on the Home Depot website and can be shipped to store or delivered to your doorstep.

Rogue state Iran plans terrifying response to Israel blitz from immediate counterstrikes to secret NUKE as tensions boil

IRAN could be spurred on to rush the creation of a nuclear weapon if Israel unleashes an attack, an ex-military intelligence agent warns.

Israel‘s top brass are understood to be poised to blitz the rogue nation within days without the backing of the US.

It comes as Donald Trump‘s 60-day deadline to thrash out a deal with Tehran over its nuclear programme last night expired.

Senior military and political sources in Tel Aviv told The Sun back in April how Israel was plotting to strike Iran’s nuke sites within weeks.

A senior diplomatic insider, speaking in Jerusalem, said Tehran’s nuclear programme should have been dealt with “a long time ago”.

Israel hoped to coordinate an attack with the US, but Benjamin Netanyahu‘s ex-advisor last week told The Sun how the prime minister was mapping out a plan to bomb Iran without Trump.

And now US officials have been warned Israel is ready to unleash strikes on the rogue nation, sources have revealed.

In a telling sign, the US has scaled down its presence in the Middle East and removed non-essential staff from its embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.

Trump alluded to potential conflict last night as he said: “They are being moved out because it could be a dangerous place and we’ll see what happens.

“They can’t have a nuclear weapon, very simple, they can’t have a nuclear weapon, we’re not going to allow that.”

Netanyahu has been making preparations behind the scenes to swiftly blitz Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities as he deems the country “enemy number one”.

Trump, however, had firmly insisted Israel take no action that could jeopardise his administration’s efforts to thrash out a deal with Iran.

But Netanyahu appears on the brink of giving the green light to strike as a sixth round of talks tentatively set for Sunday in Oman looms.

Iran’s furious Revolutionary Guard commander vowed Tehran would respond in a “more forceful and destructive way” to Israel than in past offensives.

It comes as the UN nuclear watchdog found Iran is not complying with its nuke obligations amid alarming reports that the Islamist state has stepped up secret plans to build nuclear weapons

Raz Zimmt, who spent more than two decades in the IDF’s military intelligence, said Iran is likely to immediately retaliate with a huge missile blitz if Israel launches missiles as its turf.

But the veteran Iran-watcher warned it could spur Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to continue his warped nuke scheme with no oversight – or even break out a nuclear weapon.

He told The Sun: “We have to make a distinction between two concerning scenarios in the day after an attack whether it’s an Israeli or an American attack.

“The immediate retaliation would probably be the launching of long-range missiles from Iran against Israel if that’s an Israeli attack.

“I assume that if it’s just an Israeli attack Iran will not take the risk of engaging the United States into a military confrontation with Iran by targeting US forces or US bases in the region.

Iran's breaching nuclear rules

IRAN has been declared as in breach of its nuclear rules for the first time in two decades.

The UN’s atomic watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, passed a resolution on Wednesday condemning Tehran’s “lack of co-operation”.

It is the culmination of several stand-offs between the Vienna-based IAEA and Iran since Trump pulled the US out of a nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers in 2018 during his first term, after which that accord unravelled.

Tehran said it “has no choice but to respond to this political resolution”, and said it would launch a new enrichment site “in a secure location”.

The state said: “Other measures are also being planned and will be announced subsequently.”

An IAEA official said Iran had given no further details such as the location of the site.

It comes as US and Iranian officials are due to hold a sixth round of talks on Tehran’s accelerating uranium enrichment programme in Oman on Sunday.

The Trump administration has been trying to secure a deal with Tehran aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear programme.

Donald Trump is said to be in advanced talks with Iran over a preliminary agreement that could include provisions on uranium enrichment – terms Israel finds unacceptable.

“In that case, we’ll probably see more or less what we saw in early October.

“Perhaps more than that Iran is still equipped with thousands of ballistic missiles it can use against Israel.

“Those can certainly inflict significant damage to Israel but this is only the immediate kind of retaliation. Israel of course can try to defend itself.

“Israel can carry out strikes which could in a way limit the missiles capabilities in Iran.”

An Iron Dome operator previously told The Sun how the IDF was ready for any possible air assault from Iran.

Tsgt Y said: “Fearful [of an attack from Iran]? No. We’re prepared for anything that might come.”

Dr Zimmt warned Israel blitzing Iran could spark weeks of military confrontation between the two nations.

But he argued it could prompt a far more sinister outcome.

Insiders say Iran right now has the capacity to create three to five nuclear bombs – but does not have the ability to make them explode.

Missiles intercepted over Jerusalem.

Ali Khamenei waving at a ceremony.
Getty
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei pictured last week[/caption] Illustration of Iran's nuclear facilities.

“[It is possible] after an Israeli strike Iran will try to take the remnants of what is being left of its nuclear capabilities, the fissile material, the centrifuges, what will be left out of the two main enrichment facilities and try to reconstitute its nuclear programme this time without any IEA inspections,” Dr Zimmt said.

“And so Iran can certainly use this opportunity to make a decision to break out a weapon which will require continuous efforts by both the United States and Israel to avoid that scenario.

“So the immediate retaliation would probably be some kind of missile attack against Israel if it’s only Israel.

“The second kind of retaliation would be concerning Iran’s efforts to rehabilitate its nuclear program and perhaps also breaking out weapons.”

A French government insider close to Israel said it will be imperative other countries form a deterrence coalition if Israel strikes to fend off retaliation from Iran.

The source, speaking to The Sun in Paris, warned Iran “know how to fight” and are “used to long wars”.

“You must have a kind of coalition against the reaction of Iran,” they said.

“And you have seen this small coalition immediately before, US, UK and France, and some Arab countries.

“But somebody like Trump would not support that, I mean an attack from Iran.

“So it must be a kind of deterrence, saying to Iran, OK, you have this strike from Israel, but you can’t reply, because we are there now. So if you reply, this is an attack against us.

“That’s deterrence.

“If Iran tries to strike back, you will see immediately a kind of coalition against Iran.

“And you will have a huge, huge political issue, because the best ally of Israel, the United States, the best ally of Iran is Russia.

“So if you have a strike between Israel and Iran, the problem is between the United States and Russia.”

IDF sources, speaking to The Sun at a base in Israel in April, revealed the military had been working for months to clear the path for a major strike on Iran.

Three air campaigns eliminated strategic aerial defences which were “the main obstacle” protecting Iran’s nuke facilities, the insider confirmed.

Vitally, this would allow Israeli aircraft to get to Iran’s borders with diminished fear of being blasted.

Iran's secret nuke site 'Rainbow'

Exclusive by Katie Davis, Chief Foreign Reporter (Digital)

CHILLING satellite pictures reveal Iran’s sprawling secret nuclear site codenamed “Rainbow”.

Sources in the country have uncovered how the base is being used to develop nuclear-capable missiles with a 2,000-mile range – able to strike US bases in the Middle East.

Tehran’s tyrannical regime is using oil and chemical facilities as a cover for nuclear bases, bombshell docs shared with The Sun by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) reveal.

Haunting aerial images expose a network of clandestine sites – including “Rainbow” – used by iron-fist leaders to create terrifying nuclear weapons.

A powerful nuclear blast from Iran could have disastrous consequences for the Middle East – and beyond – thanks to the capability of the warheads.

Now sources inside Iran have revealed the regime’s nuclear weaponisation entity, Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research’s (SPND) secret project to accelerate nuclear ability.

Hidden under the guise of a chemical production facility, the crowning jewel of the operation is a base known internally as the “Rangin Kaman (Rainbow) Site”.

It is some distance from Iran’s already known nuke bases, and is masked as a chemical production company known as Diba Energy Siba.

Gamers have been enjoying the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, but the inevitable has already sparked customer fury.

At Walmart, the console has sold out, and gamers are already begging for a restock.

On social media specifically, impatient customers are dying to know when the console will be restocked, and there is now an answer.

Walmart has confirmed that more Nintendo Switch 2 consoles will be coming on Friday, June 13 and midnight.

But the retailer has specified that customers will only be allowed one item per household due to demand.

The company wrote on X recently: “More Nintendo Switch 2 consoles are on the way!

Walmart Canada will have a limited amount of consoles available to order ONLINE ONLY on Friday, June 13th at 12:01am EST.

“Supplies will be limited. Due to demand, there’s a limit of 1 console per household.”

In the comments, customers still believe many will be left without a console.

One person said: “The limited restock might alleviate scarcity but could still leave many hopeful buyers without a console this cycle.”

And another wrote, seemingly disagreeing with the online method: “Putting them online is the issue though.”

CONSOLE TREAT

Despite the complaints to hit Walmart, the retailer has marked the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 in a special way.

The US Sun reported that shoppers were treated to a free bottle of Coca-Cola and a can of Pringles as the perfect gaming snacks.

The new broke on social media, as one shopper said: “Walmart delivered our Switch 2 this morning with a free can of Pringles and a Coke.

Nintendo Switch vs Switch Lite – what's the difference?

Here's what you need to know...

  • The Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t plug into your television – it’s handheld-only
  • Its Joy-Con controls aren’t detachable, and are built into the handset’s body
  • There’s no TV docking station, so you’ll charge your device using a cable
  • Some games will have restrictions, due to the console being handheld-only
  • There are three new colours: yellow, grey and turquoise
  • The Switch Lite is $100 / £100 cheaper than the Switch proper

“Unexpectedly awesome!”

Another gamer reported the same experience: “So the Walmart Switch 2 release day delivery came with (I s**t you not) a coke and Pringles.

“Unbeknownst to me, this was indeed intentional.”

The two freebies will allow customers to try out their new console in the right way, with snacks and sugar to keep them going.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been hotly anticipated, providing enhanced visuals, new controllers and better gameplay.

A new chat feature also improves connection between players, allowing audio and visual communication like never before.

‘I don’t think that’s asking much’ – Shannon Sharpe calls out Tom Brady over quarterback remarks in live TV broadcasts

SHANNON Sharpe has urged Tom Brady to be more willing to criticise quarterbacks during NFL broadcasts.

Brady, 47, is one season into a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox.

Shannon Sharpe reflected on Brady’s TV analysis[/caption]

The former New England Patriot was part of the network’s top team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

Following the conclusion of the season, Brady admitted that the experience had so far been a “positive challenge”.

On where the seven-time Super Bowl champion can improve, Sharpe pointed to his analysis of fellow QBs.

The 56-year-old said of Brady, “That’s all we ask is that you don’t make excuses.

“If Patrick Mahomes made a bad throw, say, ‘Patrick Mahomes made a bad throw.’ That’s all.

“I mean, he’s human. Michael Jordan took some bad shots. Didn’t play well. It’s right to say that that happened.

“Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes – it does not matter – if a guy doesn’t play well, it’s your obligation, because you know what the casual fan at home doesn’t know.”

Former tight end Sharpe went on to add, “I don’t think that’s asking much for the guys that’s calling the game.

“And I know it’s hard, because here’s the thing: you can’t be too critical when you’re in that position, because then they won’t do production meetings with you.

“So, you have to work a very fine line if you do play-by-play or you do color, which Tom does color.

“So, you have to walk that (line). ‘Yeah, that was a bad throw. That’s not like Patrick Mahomes.’ You know what I’m saying?

“You gotta couch it. ‘I know what he saw on that one. That’s not like Patrick.

“A guy that’s played and won as many Super Bowls as he has, and MVPs, that’s not like him, so give the defense credit on that.'”

Speaking in February, Brady admitted to not always getting it right.

“I think the mistakes that I’ve made, and I’ve made plenty, I’ve learned from all of them,’ the Fox star said.

“You’re not happy they happen, but at the same time, you understand that when they do happen – and I mispronounce words or I forget a certain statistic or the preparation’s a little off in terms of my thoughts on something and I screw up the analysis – I go back and I want to get it right the next time.

“And without the mistakes, you don’t learn from them and apply them going forward.

“And I think all the mistakes I made, although I wish I didn’t make them, the fact that I can learn from them and move forward with a greater sense of awareness just allows you to improve.”

On receiving criticism, Brady added, “Naturally, you hear different things on social media and such.

“And I have friends that will kind of give me little briefings about how it was. Again, all I’m trying to do is deliver for the fans.”

Apple has released a special trailer like no other for the film on the Apple TV app – and it’s free.

The two-minute long clip is entirely haptic.

It’s thought to be the world’s first haptic trailer.

Users have been reacting online, saying: “It felt incredible! Like a Dual Sense controller.”

Another wrote on Reddit: “Not gonna lie, that’s some awesome implementation from Apple.”

A third commented: “Ha that’s kind of fun. I don’t think I’d watch a full-length movie on my phone, but it made me pay more attention to the trailer at least.”

iPhone owners can experience it for themselves in the Apple TV app as long as they have iOS 18.4 installed.

The F1 movie is released in theatres across the US on June 23 and cinemas in the UK from June 25.

Those with a Prime membership can already enjoy the benefits of Prime Gaming.

This includes a collection of free downloadable games to keep forever, a monthly Twitch channel subscription – as well as the usual Prime benefits like free delivery and exclusive deals.

Prime Gaming’s cloud gaming service, Luna, gives gamers unlimited access to a selection of popular games – and it’s all free with your Prime membership.

What’s more, you don’t even need a dedicated gaming console, as you can easily play them on Amazon-compatible devices you already own like a Fire TV.

Every month, a new selection of games is released across a range of popular and indie developers.

Throughout June, subscribers can claim their free games every Thursday at primegaming.com

Two games for this month have already been released, with two more available from today.

This includes the adaptation of the popular tabletop game Mordheim: City of the Damned, created by Games Workshop as part of the Warhammer World.

The “turn-based tactical game where you lead warbands into bloody and lethal skirmishes” is currently listed at a £17.99 retail price.

For those looking for a more relaxing gaming experience, The Abandoned Planet features puzzle-solving and aesthetically pleasing pixel art graphic design.

With another two games released today, it’s a great time to make the most of your exclusive Prime deals.

Today’s deal includes a fun co-op game that requires you to work together with teammates to solve puzzles.

In Death Squared, each player has to guide a robot to a colour-coded goal through deadly traps and hazards.

The challenging game is a great way to improve your observation and communication skills, especially while it’s free in Prime’s deal, compared to its £12.79 retail price.

Also released today is Station to Station, a minimalist game about building railway connections that’s perfect for train enthusiasts.

Released later this month, gamers can eagerly await a collection of sci-fi and RPG games.

This includes Dark Envoy and FATE: Undiscovered Realms both available on June 19.

Dark Envoy allows gamers to control a party of relic hunters in a conflict-torn world using an RPG and skill-based combat system.

Finally, Prime subscribers can access even more exclusive deals on June 26 when three games are released on Luna.

If you’re looking for a game where you get to play as a sneaky thief, Thief: Deadly Shadows might be a good fit for you, saving £7.49 in the deal.

Those who are looking for a sci-fi combat game might enjoy Jupiter Hell, in which “a lone space marine” is pit against “overwhelming demonic forces” using shotguns, chainguns, railguns and chainsaws.

Finally, cosy gamers might enjoy the month’s final release with Gallery of Things: Reveries, a relaxing game with Dada-inspired hidden object puzzles.

In addition to this month’s releases, subscribers can make the most of the existing catalogue.

This includes popular games like Batman: Arkham Knight, LEGO DC Super-Villains, Fortnite, Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition and Fallous 3: Game of the Year Edition.
