THE CEO of E.I.f. Beauty has defended the $1 price switch forced on customers.

The chief has claimed that shoppers have embraced the change, and said that the large majority are even positive about it.

E.I.f. Beauty’s CEO Tarang Amin has defended his company’s recent $1 price increase across its product line.

He claims this has been done to compensate for President Donald Trump‘s tariff policies.

Amin has suggested that shoppers on the whole are not put off shopping due to the price rise.

In an interview with CNBC, Amin said: “We had about 98% positive sentiment from our consumers.

“Even after the price increase, 75% of our portfolio is $10 or less, so still a phenomenal value.”

This claim comes despite the fact that E.l.f. shares fell 9.48% in response to the company’s earnings report.

E.l.f. reported that its net income fell by 30% from last year, and has hit out at tariffs for being the reason why.

The added cost of importing from China has weighed down the business, it claims.

E.l.f. went as far as to withhold its full-year outlook due to the “wide range of potential outcomes related to tariffs.”

In the same interview, Amin stressed that E.l.f. Beauty has experienced significant growth internationally.

He continued: “International was the fastest-growing part of our business this past quarter, or, actually, the last few quarters.

“So, really, to be able to meet that demand, we’ll continue to diversify.”

E.l.f. has been connected to some famous faces in the past, like when it bought Hailey Bieber’s skincare brand, rhode, for a potential $1 billion this year.

TARIFF TALK

Back in February, Amin said he was “relieved” that a tariff on China would only be 10% – a fact that isn’t true today.

In a previous interview with the same outlet, Amin laid out the uncertainty that E.l.f. Beauty faced.

It also shined a light on how the company would react to the potential of higher tariffs.

He explained: “[It] seems like a weird thing to say, but we actually were somewhat relieved when it was only 10 points because at one time, the rhetoric was as high as 60% tariffs.

“We also want to play it out. There’s so much back and forth going on right now.

“If there was a higher level of tariff, we don’t want to announce our pricing actions until we know kind of where we feel it’s really going to settle out.

“The good thing, because we do have a long supply chain … we won’t face it this fiscal year.

“It won’t be until about, you know, well into our [fiscal year 2026] before we start seeing the value of that higher inventory.

“So we have time to really make sure we have the playbook.”

Jimmy Fallon and Greg Gutfeld came together for a surprising collaboration where the television personalities reminisced on the first time they met.

The two hosts gathered on Fallon’s Tonight Show – an interesting pairing as both have talk shows on competing channels – as Gutfeld shared the embarrassing tale of the first time the two had met.

As he joined the stage, Fox News‘ Gutfeld gave Fallon a hug and said that it “brought back memories.”

“This is hilarious – we’ve met before,” Fallon said on air. 

“Yes, you have no memory of it… Which is understandable, because we were wasted,” Gutfeld said.

He then claimed that the two had met over a decade ago at an “illegal speakeasy” in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, owned by a mutual friend.

“You’re not making this up. I totally know what you’re talking about,” Fallon quipped back.

“I think I remember bringing beer into the bar, and then him charging me for my own beer.”

The Fox News personality then said that as soon as Fallon saw him, he ran over.

“You run towards me, and you tackle me, like you’re a giant golden retriever,” he recounted as the crowd laughed.

“You’re like on top of me. And so we’re wrestling. We’re wrestling.”

“And then you change, and you start wrestling my buddy Andy, and you’re wrestling him. And you guys get on the ground. You guys are now on the ground wrestling.” 

Gutfeld then said that as he took out a cigarette, Fallon took it from him and crumpled it to the ground, saying: “These things will kill you.”

“Then I go: ‘Dude, I’m not rich. You’re rich.’ Cigarettes are expensive in New York City. I yell, and all of a sudden, your face changed,” he claimed.

“And you looked sad, and then you left.”

Fallon was looking to make amends, however, as just minutes later, he turned up with a new pack.

“I go, ‘That was really sweet. You want me to die,'” Gutfeld said as the audience laughed.

Fallon then confirmed the story, saying that all the details were true.

“It was all very good-natured, and it was a great memory,” Gutfeld said on the show.

“And I’m so glad I finally got to tell you!”

The rest of the episode featured Gutfeld talking about his Fox News show, “What Did I Miss?” and how he had gotten fired plenty of times before finally ending up at the channel.

“Congrats on the series being picked up another season, that’s a big deal,” Fallon told Gutfeld as the show concluded.

Like any tech company, Apple routinely discontinues older devices and continues to offer software and servicing for a limited period after.

The firm has two key phases: vintage and obsolete.

An Apple gadget is classified as vintage when Apple stopped distributing it for sale more than five and less than seven years ago.

You can still get a repair sorted from authorised service providers during this period but there’s no guarantee as the parts become limited.

But when it steps into the obsolete stage you can’t get any repairs sorted at all.

A device is considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than seven years ago.

As you would expect, with 49 years in the business, Apple has a lot of discontinued products now.

And there are a sizeable number of iPhones on the list dating back to the very first in 2007.

Of course, it includes other gizmos too, such as the Apple Watch.

And it’s a popular Apple Watch model that’s been bumped down to obsolete this week.

The second-generation Apple Watch Series 1 models released in 2016 have been added.

So if you own one, don’t count on any repairs – you’ll have to upgrade to a newer Apple Watch.
