National inquiry into child grooming scandal should never have taken so long

Belated justice

THE Prime Minister has finally agreed to a national inquiry into the child grooming scandal that has seen countless young white girls raped and abused by mostly Asian gangs.

It should never have taken so long.

Thousands of white girls were abused in grooming gang scandals across the country[/caption]

For decades councils, police and officials turned a blind eye to the appalling crimes going on under their noses, supposedly to protect “social cohesion”.

The pain and suffering of girls as young as ten was apparently judged a price worth paying to avoid community tensions. That is appalling.

Most of the known grooming cases happened in areas where the local Labour authority relied on the Asian vote.

But this is not just an historic scandal.

As recently as January, Sir Keir Starmer and others in the Government accused those calling for a national inquiry of “jumping on the band-wagon” and “amplifying” the far-right.

Now he has made yet another U-turn — almost certainly because he has been forced to, rather than because he’s suddenly realised it’s the moral thing to do.

The inquiry findings are unlikely to reflect well on his party, but there can be no more cover-up.

The politicians and officials who allowed this scandal to carry on for so many years must be held to account.

Trigger point

NO sane person is comfortable with the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.

But Israel’s precision bombing of Iran’s nuclear development sites and military leaders is hardly unprovoked.

Iran’s mad mullahs have been waging war on Israel, through their terrorist proxies, for years.

With their avowed intent to destroy Israel, Iran’s rush to develop nuclear weapons in breach of international agreements presents an existential threat the Israelis could not ignore.

But Israel is not just defending itself by thwarting Iran’s nuclear ambitions — it is also making the world safer.

Moderate Iranians despair at how their hardline leaders have squandered the country’s wealth to fund a murderous ideology.

Anyone fighting the Tehran regime’s corner is blinded by the same anti-Israel hatred.

Daft punt

LABOUR’S nannying backbenchers might reckon ramping up tax on online horse-racing bets is a safe punt but senior MPs — on both sides — know better.

It would hammer a sector that employs thousands of voters, and decimate horse-racing and other sports that rely on gambling revenue.

Rachel Reeves, with her previous tax decisions, has already shown a habit of backing losers.

This would be another.

Horse racing risks being DESTROYED if Reeves pushes ahead with tax raid on online gambling, MPs warn

HORSE racing risks being destroyed if Rachel Reeves pushes ahead with a tax raid on online gambling, MPs warned today.

Senior Labour and Tory politicians urged the Chancellor not to whack up betting levies.

They say it could wipe out “one of the crown jewels of UK sport and culture”.

The Treasury is considering a new flat-rate remote betting and gaming duty, under which horse racing bets would be taxed at the same rate as online gaming and slots — despite being less profitable.

Such a move would discourage bookmakers from promoting the sport, leading to fewer bets, it is claimed.

In a new report, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Racing and Bloodstock said the tax would bring job losses and economic pain for towns such as Doncaster, Cheltenham and Newmarket.

Labour MP Dan Carden said: “I’m calling on the Government to secure a fair funding model, protect jobs and allow horse racing to thrive for future generations.”

And Tory MP Nick Timothy added: “Horse racing is one of the crown jewels of British sport and culture. Nobody will forgive ministers if their decisions lead to its decline.”

The MPs’ concerns are backed by voters, with polling for the APPG showing two-thirds see horse racing as key to the identity of race meeting towns.

The racing sector contributes £4.1billion to the economy and supports more than 85,000 jobs.

Walmart shoppers go crazy over $13.79 ‘sturdy’ storage solution – and it immediately increases your bathroom size

An image collage containing 2 images, Image 1 shows Walmart store exterior signage, Image 2 shows Black two-tiered sink organizer with cleaning supplies

WALMART customers have been praising a storage solution that can help make a bathroom feel bigger in an instant.

The popular item is flying off shelves this month for a budget-friendly price, but only while supplies last.

For just $13.79, consumers can order the Phancir Under Sink Organizer on the retail giant’s website.

That’s a discount $15.20 off the original price point of $28.99.

There’s even a two-pack option for $22.79, an even greater savings opportunity given the original price of $45.99.

Included on the sink organizer is a top basket and one slide-out drawer at total dimensions of 15.74 inches in length by 8.58 inches in width and 13.18 inches in height.

The sliding drawer on bottom allows for “easier access to what’s hiding in the back of your sink and solves the trouble of bending over to find thins,” per the product description.

It provides easy access and organization for any bathroom essentials like soaps, face creams, other toiletries, and even cleaning supplies.

There’s even additional hooks included for belongings to hang off the sides of the top basket, and a smaller hanging cup for extra storage.

The hanging cup could easily fit items like a toothbrush or toothpaste.

BUILT TOUGH

Arguably one of the best aspects of the Phancir Under Sink Organizer is the simple construction.

No tools are required to put it together and everything can easily be installed in under two minutes.

Phancir also noted a “durability” promise for customers, noting that every sink organizer is “rigorously tested.”

Each is built with a ABS plastic and rustproof support tubes, making it stable enough to hold any bathroom essentials.

The only real downside to the Phancir Under Sink Organizer is that it only comes in a black color type for those that hoped to add a pop of color to their space.

Either way, the sink organizer has garnered a predominantly positive response from buyers, with an overall 4.6 out of five-star rating.

BUY IT NOW

  • Phancir Under Sink Organizer: $13.79 – buy here

“I like these under my bathroom sink,” a satisfied shopper wrote.

“Great product! Works fine if you use it right,” another added.

“You just have to get one of these sink organizers. It saves so much space!” a third exclaimed.

Someone else praised the “sturdy” build being able to hold whatever was needed in the organizer.

FATHER’S DAY FIND

With Father’s Day arriving this weekend, Walmart also has a sweet deal on a 20-piece essential.

For just $54.88, customers can grab the Hyper Tough 20V Max 1.5AH Project Kit with Cordless Drill, Battery & Charger for dad.

The price point is very budget-friendly considering everything that’s included.

There are several drill tips, measuring tape, pliers, a screwdriver, hammer, wrench, and more, along with a carry bag.

It’s basically an all-in-one solution for DIY projects.

Other summer items at Walmart are also catching serious attention in June.

A $59.99 inflatable pool is a “best-selling” option on the retail giant’s website, with reviewers ironically saying it “blew our expectations out of the water.”

Walmart also dropped a $500 grill to just $185 recently, and it comes with three handy features.

Archaeologists discover second ‘hidden city’ underneath Egypt’s Pyramids with new chambers 2,000ft below the surface

ARCHAEOLOGISTS have claimed to have discovered a second hidden city sat deep beneath Egypt’s famous pyramids of Giza.

The potentially seismic revelation could even help to prove the existence of a whopping complex of chambers buried 2,000ft underground.

A study claims that both the Khafre and Menkaure pyramids are connected by an underground complex which resembles an ancient city[/caption] Illustration of a pyramid with eight spiral pillars underneath, connected by corridors, leading to cube structures.

Back in March, a clever team of Italian and Scottish archaeologists sensationally claimed that “an entire hidden world of many structures” is hidden beneath the pyramids.

This was described as a secret city at the time.

They used radar technology to see a complex network sat more than a kilometre below the ground of the Khafre pyramid.

It is said to include huge vertical columns with spiral stairs, a water system and connecting corridors which all formed a city.

But now, the same team has uncovered a similar phenomenon under a second pyramid in Giza.

Just months after the Khafre discovery, they claim to have found another city beneath the Pyramid of Menkaure – the smallest of the three main pyramids at Giza.

The newly-discovered shafts and pillars would blow apart the accepted wisdom about the origins of the pyramids, if ever proven.

Filippo Biondi, a radar expert from University of Strathclyde and co-author of the research, told the Daily Mail their data shows a 90 per cent probability the Menkaure and the Khafre share the same pillars.

The team used “objective analysis of the tomography data” to help uncover the mystery structures beneath the pyramids.

Biondi said: “We firmly believe that the Giza structures are interconnected, reinforcing our view that the pyramids are merely the tip of the iceberg of a colossal underground infrastructural complex.

“This network likely consists of a dense system of tunnels linking the main subterranean structures.

“Discoveries like these under Menkaure challenge us to rethink our understanding of ancient Egyptian history and humanity’s past, opening new perspectives on our origins and capabilities.”

In an even bolder claim, they theorised the Giza complex of pyramids, widely thought the be around 4,500 years old, was actually built 38,000 years ago.

The shafts and chambers they identified below ground are said to be a similar age.

Another major suggestion is that the people who built the pyramids may have been wiped out by a “divine flood” triggered by an asteroid pact.

According to the theory, the pyramids were the only “megastructure” to survive the extinction event.

Many fellow researchers remain sceptical about the existence of a hidden network underneath the great pyramids.

Some have even outright blasted the archaeologists for their proposals.

Dr Zahi Hawass, Egypt‘s former Minister of Antiquities, labelled the findings “completely wrong” and not rooted in science.

He added: “The claim of using radar inside the pyramid is false, and the techniques employed are neither scientifically approved nor validated.”

The extraordinary new study is also yet to be peer-reviewed.

A brief history of Ancient Egypt

Here's everything you need to know...

  • The Ancient Egyptians were an advanced civilisation who at one point owned a huge portion of the globe
  • The civilisation began about 5,000 years ago when ancient humans began building villages along the River Nile
  • It lasted for about 3,000 years and saw the building of complex cities centuries ahead of their time – as well as the famous Great Pyramids
  • The Ancient Egyptians were experts at farming and construction
  • They invented a solar calendar, and one of the world’s earliest writing systems: The hieroglyph
  • The Egyptians were ruled by kings and queens called pharaohs
  • Religion and the afterlife were a huge part of Ancient Egyptian culture. They had over 2,000 gods
  • Pharaohs built huge elaborate tombs to be buried in, some of which were pyramids – at the time among the largest buildings in the world
  • The Egyptians believed in life after death, and important people’s corpses were mummified to preserve their bodies for the afterlife
  • The Ancient Egytpian empire fell due to a mix of factors, including wars with other empires and a 100-year period of drought and starvation

Among those included were her daughters’ exes – Kayne West, Scott Disick, Tristan Thompson and Travis Scott.

Kris penned: “Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads, step dads, grandfathers and father figures out there!

“You have shaped, supported and loved us in so many ways and I’m grateful to have witnessed that love that each of you has for your children.

“To my son, Rob… you were born to be a daddy and I am so proud of the father and man you are. I love you!

“I wish all the dads out there a day filled with love.”

Kris’ montage-style post also featured her own exes, Robert Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner.

Meanwhile, her current partner, Corey Gamble, was likewise included in the tribute.

One person commented: “She didn’t discriminate.”

Another commented: “The way u included Scott and Kanye is so sweet.”

A third penned: “Appreciate the inclusiveness no matter the personal differences, go Kris.”

While a fourth remarked: “This is an example of being the bigger person. Bravo!”

Other followers queried some of her inclusions, as one wrote: “Kanye? Tristan? Wow.”

Another chimed in: “Girl Tristan? Be fr lol.”

As a third said: “Remove Kanye Eeeeeew.”

Earlier this month, The U.S. Sun revealed Kris has been “struggling” to sell her family’s iconic Hidden Hills mansion – as interested buyers complained the massive $13.5m price tag is ‘way too high.”

All About Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner is the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, who rose to fame with her six children after starring on the E! reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Here's what Kris has been up to:

Kris was first married to the late Robert Kardashian, famously known as O.J. Simpson’s defense attorney in his 1995 murder trial.

They shared four children: daughters, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, and a son, Robert

The former couple were married from 1978 until 1991.

Following their divorce, Kris tied the knot with former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, who also appeared on KUWTK.

The pair shared two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.

They split in 2015, around the time that Bruce transitioned and changed her name to Caitlyn.

Kris met her current boyfriend, Corey Gamble, in August 2014, and they have been together ever since.

Kris manages her daughters’ widely-successful careers and they’ve continued their reality TV run with The Kardashians on Hulu, shortly after KUWTK ended.

The home would be familiar to Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans, as it was a staple of filming the reality show for over 11 years.

According to an insider, the house “hasn’t had any good enough offers.”

“People have complained it’s way overpriced for what it is. There has also been a lot of concern over wildfire danger and the lack of insurance available for that.

“The home is gorgeous, everyone agrees on that. But in order to get someone to bite, they’ll need to make the price lower,” the real estate source claimed.

The animal ended up in Robinson’s backyard after school one day.

“The story is that my neighbor back home, he needed somewhere to put the camel,” Robinson told KOLN.

“I came home one day after school and I looked down on my backyard and I about 100 yards away and I went out there and walked in like, ‘really camel in my backyard.'”

It was captioned: “Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy.”

The Duchess has been more open with posting her children this year, amid her new business ventures.

The mum-of-two has previously posted several clips of them making jam on her Instagram stories.

But she often uploads snaps with their faces either hidden or the kids facing the other way during the shot.

Her fathers day tribute to husband Harry followed the same pattern with the clips of her kids featuring the back of their heads only.

Footage showed Harry running and playing with his children with several clips showing the three share warm embraces.

Other clips showed the Duke of Sussex introducing his daughter Lillibet to a horse and one adorable video showed Archie blowing bubbles from a car window.

Further footage shared by Meghan showed Harry with his kids while they were still babies with one clip showing the Duke cradling infant Lillibet in his arms.

The touching compilation ends with a photo of Harry facing away from the camera below a large sign reading “Happy Fathers Day.”

It comes after Prince William’s children wished him a Happy Father’s Day in a heartwarming post on social media.

The sweet message was posted on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales on behalf of young royals George, Charlotte and Louis.

One is a portrait shot showing Wills standing with his arms around Prince George, 11,and Princess Charlotte, 10, while seven-year-old Prince Louis stands in front of him.

Another black and white picture shared showed the four lying on the grass laughing in an embrace.

The post was captioned: “Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!). We love you! G, C & L,” accompanied by a love heart.

The heartwarming photographs were taken by Josh Shinner earlier this year in Norfolk.

The King and Queen have also wished fathers around the world a happy Father’s Day by posting photographs of their own fathers on the royal family’s Instagram account.

“To all Dads everywhere, we wish you a happy Father’s Day today,” the official account said.

The post shared a photograph of the late Prince Philip playing with a young Charles and the Princess Royal on a swing.

A picture of Camilla and her father Major Bruce Shand was also shared, showing the pair posing for a photograph on Camilla and Charles’s wedding day on April 9 2005.

It comes as the family attended Trooping the Colour on Saturday celebrating the King’s official birthday.

Wills wore the Full Ceremonial Guard Order of the Welsh Guards yesterday during the parade.

His two sons, George and Louis, looked dapper in suits with red ties.

Prince William saluted while on horseback, alongside Princess Anne and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Kate, meanwhile, looked elegant in an aquamarine Catherine Walker coatdress with ivory lapels and cuffs.

A family photo from Saturday’s event was shared on Instagram after with the Wales’ beaming.
