I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do […]

Templegate’s Derby tip: ‘He’s extremely impressive and has way more to come’ – My NAP on a huge day at Epsom

TEMPLEGATE tackles a massive Saturday of racing confident of smashing the bookies.

The big race of the day – the year, even – is the Derby and 19 runners go to post for the 3.30 live on ITV1 – although one huge name could be pulled at the last minute amid a dire weather warning.

Our man goes through every single runner and reveals his 1-2-3-4 Derby prediction in his brilliant runner-by-runner guide.

You’ll find all his picks below, so grab yourself a free bet offer and back a horse simply by clicking their odds.

PRIDE OF ARRAS (3.30 Epsom, nap)

He was extremely impressive when winning the Dante at York last time on just his second outing. That was his first start for nine months and he burst through the line to suggest this longer trip will be fine. His high draw could be tricky but not impossible and he has more to come.

DOCKLANDS (1.35 Epsom, nb)

He has some fancy Group 1 form including his second in the Queen Anne at last year’s Royal Ascot. He was sent all over the globe after that with solid results and ran a solid comeback at Ascot last time. He’ll be fitter for that and has won on quick and slow ground.

VALVANO (4.15 Epsom, treble)

He showed lots of promise last season and returned with a solid fourth at Goodwood last time. He should improve for that fitness wise and he handles any ground.

Templegate’s TV verdicts

EPSOM

1.00

IF it comes up properly soft by racetime, Sparks Fly would be a cracking bet given her superb record in testing conditions.

But assuming it’s good to soft or quicker, ROYAL DRESS is the one to be on.

She was an unlucky third in this last year before striking in this grade at The Curragh.

She has since held her own in better races including when third at York last time. William Buick is an eyecatching booking too.

Bermuda Longtail looked promising when beaten half a length in a York Listed contest last month and has much more to come.

She gets plenty of weight for age too.

Skellet progressed last season and is another who should be capable of better for Ralph Beckett.

1.35

DOCKLANDS has some fancy Group 1 form including his second in the Queen Anne at last year’s Royal Ascot.

He was sent all over the globe after that with solid results and ran a solid comeback at Ascot last time.

He’ll be fitter for that and has won on quick and slow ground.

Persica didn’t fire in the Lockinge last time but took a Newmarket Group 3 easily enough on comeback and has won here before.

Ryan Moore’s a good booking and he’s a big threat.

Royal Playwright gets the best part of a stone from his older rivals and didn’t get the run of the race in the Dante last time.

He could take a major step forward here.

Royal Dubai wasn’t disgraced at Ascot last time and looks the pick of the bigger prices.

2.10

AGAINST THE WIND could be the answer to this tricky puzzle.

He has plenty of weight but has been running well with a Thirsk win followed by a fine York third last time.

He gets away quickly so should be suited by this track.

Naana’s Sparkle ran a nice race at Goodwood last time when third and showed lots of pace. He looks on a fair mark.

Ruby’s Profit got the better of Mademoiselle in that race and they should both be right at home here too after showing a lot of boot.

Tees Aggregates saves his best for Catterick so should love Epsom which is another tricky track.

He may not be quite good enough to win but could be an each-way bet if you can get extra places.

Blinky won a couple on the all-weather before a decent third at Chester last time.

A repeat of that would put him in the place picture from what should be an ideal draw.

2.45

JER BATT always faced a tough task from a wide draw at Chester last time yet still ran a good race.

He has some fine handicap form over this trip yet is still on a fair weight and the booking of Oisin Murphy is a plus. He’ll be right there.

Clarendon House is quirky but has enough quality to figure if he fancies it.

He went well in the Group 3 Palace House at Newmarket last time.

Last year’s winner Dream Composer was also badly drawn at Chester latest but looked much better when second at Pontefract on comeback. He can figure again.

Jm Jungle has been placed in hot York handicaps on his past two outings.

He likes this trip and is a quick starter so has every chance.

Vintage Clarets showed positive signs on the Knavesmire latest and is in the each-way picture too.

3.30

PRIDE OF ARRAS was a brilliant Dante winner at York and has more to come.

French raider Midak looks overpriced, while Lambourn would have a say if the rain comes.

And you never rule out Ryan Moore on Delacroix, especially as the jockey was simply brilliant on Minnie Hauk in the Oaks.

Antony ‘could be rescued from Man Utd hell by Erik ten Hag with Real Betis unable to afford permanent transfer’

ANONY could be saved from his Manchester United hell by the man who brought him to Old Trafford in the first place.

According to reports, new Bayer Leverkusen boss Erik ten Hag is considering sining the Brazilian for Leverkusen this summer.

Ten Hag was in charge at United when Antony arrived for £86m in 2022.

But the tricky winger’s time in Manchester has been nothing short of a disaster, with Antony even admitting he went days without eating it got so bad.

Antony was handed a loan lifeline by Real Betis for the second half of this season, excelling in Spain where he registered 14 goal contributions in 26 games as Betis secured a Europa League place next season.

However, despite glowing reviews and an internal ambition to re-sign the 25-year-old, Betis are thought to be unable to afford Antony on a permanent deal.

United are understood to prefer a permanent sale for Antony if an exit is sanctioned.

According to Sky Sports, Bayer Leverkusen could offer a viable option for Antony to finally call a permenant end to his time at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Bundesliga club are thought to have shortlisted Antony as one of a number of forwards they are keen on should Florian Wirtz leave for Liverpool this summer.

Wirtz looks destined for a switch to the Premier League champions with Arne Slot and his team tabling club-record bids to convince the German to head to Anfield.

Reports claim that Antony being reintegrated back into the fold under Ruben Amorim should not yet be ruled out either.

However Antony made it clear how much he has struggled to adapt to life in the spotlight at one of the world’s biggest clubs in United.

In an emotional interview with TNT Sports Brazil, he revealed: “I wanted to do things [at Man Utd], but they didn’t see to work out because I wasn’t happy.

“I didn’t feel that desire to play football, and I needed to find myself and be happy again because playing football was always something I loved.

“I went through difficult times when I no longer felt that pleasure. I even always told my brother, I told him that I couldn’t take it anymore.

“[My brother] told me to hold on a little longer, that things were going to change. It even made me emotional, because they were very hard days for me.

“Only I know what it was like to be there at home, not having the strength to even play with my son, going days without eating, staying locked in my room.

“So, for me it was very complicated, but thank God, with the help of my family and mainly with the help of God, I managed to get ahead and today I am very happy here.”

Man Utd have already announced the arrival of Matheus Cunha in a £62.5m swap from Wolves, while Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo appears to be next in line for a summer move to join Amorim’s underachieving outfit.

Family & friends of 3 Brits facing death penalty in £300k Bali coke smuggling plot reveal horror as trio’s fate awaits

THE family and friends of three Brits facing the death penalty after being accused of a £300,000 coke smuggling plot have revealed they are in “deep shock”.

Jon Collyer, 37, and Lisa Stocker, 39, both of Gillingham, Kent, are charged with attempting to smuggle 1kg of cocaine into Bali on February 1.

A third Brit, Phineas Float, 31, who was allegedly due to receive the pair, was arrested a few days later.

The three Brits face death by firing squad if they are found guilty of the offence under Indonesia’s tough anti-drug laws.

Members of their families and friends have now spoken of their horror over the drug arrests.

Julian Collyer, dad of Jon, said: “I’m in deep shock, to be honest.

“I’m very, very worried as any father or parent would be. I’m concerned about the court case and just very worried.”

Speaking to the DailyMail, the East Sussex dad revealed he spoke to his son for the first time in three weeks.

A family member of mum Lisa Stocker, who wished to remain anonymous, said her kids “are desperate without her”.

She added: “She’s just a mum. Her kids are going to be desperate without her.

“It doesn’t bear thinking about. I’m so shocked and I can’t sleep at night thinking about what might happen to her.”

Stocker and Collyer allegedly brought the drugs into Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport via Doha airport in Qatar.

The pair was arrested at the airport when security officials discovered suspicious items in their suitcase during a random X-ray check.

Police claim airport security seized 994.56g of cocaine in sealed blue plastic Angel Delight packets in Collyer’s suitcase.

Cops allege more cocaine was found in Stocker’s bag.

It’s claimed Float was expected to meet Collyer and Stocker at the airport.

Collyer and Stocker are being tried together and Float separately, although the trio appeared together in Denpasar earlier this week.

The trio’s fate will be decided by three judges, since Indonesia does not have a jury system.

Float was all smiles as he faced the court in Bal earlier this week.

He told journalists to “f**k off” as he was led to face drug trafficking charges.

Collyer and Float were seen grinning at local media during an earlier court appearance

He arrived in a prison van at Bali’s Denpasar Central Court with his wrists shackled and wearing a red prison vest over a white shirt.

The Brit hurled abuse at the press while being walked to a holding cell.

Article 113 of Indonesia narcotics law states that anyone who imports or distributes drugs is subject to the death penalty.

The three have been held in Bali’s notorious Kerobokan prison and it has been reported that Float has gotten into fights with other inmates.

Prison authorities threatened him with being thrown into the feared “rat cell” isolation over an alleged recent brawl with another inmate.

Around 530 people, including 96 foreigners, are on death row in Indonesia, mostly for drug-related offences, according to the country’s Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

Alison danced crazily as she recreated Meghan Markle’s viral video where she twerked in an attempt to induce daughter Lilibet’s birth in 2021.

Alison wore a huge fake belly under a figure hugging dress as she showcased her moves to Starrkeisha’s viral song Baby Mama.

The broadcaster, who is already mum to son Aidan, 20, whom she shares with ex-husband, captioned the post: “Lots of AI stories online about me being pregnant.

“I can confirm I am not having a baby as I’m not sure my 50 year old womb could take it .

“However I do think we should all dance like Meghan!!”

Of course, it wasn’t long before Alison’s followers rushed to post in the comments.

One said: “Just another reason to love Alison.”

Another added: “I love this so much! And double yes to Meghan!.”

“Such a Queen,” said another.

While one fan gushed: “YOU ARE AMAZING ALISON X.”

Meghan, 43, released the 89-second clip of her and Prince Harry  to her three million followers on Instagram after earlier posting unseen photos of her daughter.

It showed the heavily pregnant Meghan making rowing movements and shimmying her shoulders beside the hospital bed.

Prince Harry also shuffles into view in a hoodie to the strains of then-viral pregnancy hit The Baby Momma Dance.

But the clip sparked bizarre claims from conspiracy theorists, who questioned whether the baby bump was real.

The wild online speculation cruelly suggested that Meghan wasn’t pregnant at all and was in fact wearing a prosthetic pregnant belly or “moonbump”.

Some went even further with groundless claims that the video was faked, made on a film set or even generated by AI.

Meanwhile, Alison who is already on nearly every channel, making programmes about baking, travel, dogs and hobnobbing with celebrities – has bagged yet another show.

The TV celebrity will this summer front new Channel 4 project Your Song.

In the series she will tour Britain giving ordinary members of the public the chance to perform a track which has special meaning to them.

But Alison will have to squeeze her new job into her schedule.

As well as appearing soon on Channel 4’s Bake Off and Celebrity Gogglebox, for the BBC she’s just made travel series Florida Unpacked and interview show Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend for the BBC.

Plus, on ITV, she still has This Morning and For The Love Of Dogs.

Novak Djokovic drops biggest retirement hint yet as tennis legend, 38, claims Jannik Sinner loss may be ‘farewell’

NOVAK DJOKOVIC said farewell to Paris as his tilt at a record 25th Grand Slam was destroyed by Jannik Sinner.

The Serbian, 38, waved goodbye to fans on Court Philippe-Chatrier and ran his fingers through the clay after he was out-maneuvered 6-4 7-5 7-6 in the semi-finals by the Italian world No.1.

Djokovic was eliminated by Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals

Whether this ends up being his final appearance at the French Open, 20 years after his debut, remains to be seen.

Djokovic, who had treatment on his leg, said: “I wanted to show a great sense of gratitude for the kind of support that I received. It was incredible.

“I don’t think I have ever received this much support in this stadium in my career in big matches against the best players in the world.

“Congratulations to Jannik for another very good and solid performance.

“Mentally he deserved big credit for hanging in there in the tough moments when the whole stadium was cheering. He showed why he’s No.1 in the world. He was just too solid.

“I mean this could have been the last match ever I played here, so I don’t know. That’s why I was a bit more emotional even in the end.

“But if this was the farewell match of the Roland Garros for me in my career, it was a wonderful one in terms of the atmosphere and what I got from the crowd.

“Do I wish to play more? Yes, I do. But will I be able to play in 12 months’ time here again? I don’t know.”

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

It is his misfortune that he ran into a player who has not lost a Grand Slam match since Wimbledon 2024.

Yet to drop a set, Sinner, 23, will now face his rival and pal Carlos Alcaraz in a blockbuster final, which pits seeds one against two.

But he paid tribute to the vanquished Djokovic, saying: “It was a special occasion to play against Novak. It’s amazing.

“I had to step up. Play my best tennis. He’s the best player in the history of our sport.

“It shows what a role model he is for all of us, especially us young players. What he is doing is incredible. We are very, very lucky to see him play at such a high level of tennis.”

Alcaraz moved a step closer to defending his French Open crown as he pushed weary Lorenzo Musetti to breaking point in the first semi-final.

The Italian might have won the opening set but his body soon broke down as he struggled to deal with the Spaniard’s relentless onslaught.

Injury to his left leg in set three resulted in Musetti, the No 8 seed, having to retire with the scoreline 4-6 7-6 6-0 2-0 in Alcaraz’s favour under a closed roof.

It was a sad way to end this special occasion but Alcaraz, 22, remains on course to become the third man this century to retain the Roland Garros silver cup.

Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion, said: “It’s not the way that I wanted to win, to make the final.

“I just wished him, you know, a speedy recovery. I hope to see him soon.

“His level went down a little bit, and I made the most of it. Playing at such a great level and high intensity during three sets is tough.

“I tried to push him to the limit. The first two sets were really difficult, intense, and I tried to make him run a lot during the third set.”

Walmart is selling its own dupe of the ‘labubu’ toy that went viral on TikTok – and it’s $10 cheaper than the real thing

WALMART has started stocking shelves which a dupe of the fiercely popular Labubu toy after the latter went viral on social media.

The retail giant now boasts an inexpensive version of the figures.

The original vinyl figure has become fiercely popular since their release[/caption]

The Cute & Fashion Monster Plush Doll Keychain comes in a variety of colours including Chestnut Cocoa, Green Grape, and Toffee.

The compact and functional accessory is lightweight and easily clips to keys, backpacks, or purses – adding a pop of cuteness to your everyday carry.

Better still, shoppers can get their hands on one for a relatively cheap $16.89 (£12.50).

With their bunny ears and creepy smiles, Labubu dolls have surged in popularity since being spotted on the bags of celebrities including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Olivia Attwood and Gemma Collins.

Created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, the vinyl figures are sold in £17.50 “blind boxes” — so fans do not know which version they are getting.

The brand made its debut in 2015, but skyrocketed in global popularity after hitting Pop Mart shelves in 2019.

Pop Mart is a Chinese toy retailer, known for its collectible designer models that are often sold in a blind box format, meaning you don’t know what you’ve got until you’ve opened it.

After mammoth success overseas, the Labubu craze has now made its way to the UK.

The first three months of 2025 were wildly successful for the brand, with Brits searching high and low to nab one of the quirky figurines.

Since opening stores in London and Manchester over the last 12 months, Labubu dolls have become cult collectibles among grown British women.

Labubus come in an array of vibrant colours, unique shapes and various sizes, spanning from plush toys to striking vinyl figures.

They come as little toys you can hook on your handbag, as well as mega-sized figures and quirky home decorations.

Who created the Labubu toy?

Labubu is the brainchild of artist Kasing Lung, who was raised in the Netherlands.

He is now worth an estimated £12.8billion after writing three picture books in 2015, featuring magical creatures named The Monsters.

Chinese retailer Pop Mart’s site reads: “The most prominent was Labubu, a small monster with high, pointed ears and serrated teeth.”

Pop Mart saw sales more than double last year. A spokesman said: “This isn’t just about ‘toys’, but a collectible pop culture movement.”

Buyers are only allowed to purchase limited amounts. There are also “secret edition” dolls – with rarer characters re-sold on third-party websites for up to £1,000.

Last week Pop Mart – which has 16 stores across the UK – paused in-store sales to ensure the “safety and comfort” of shoppers following chaotic long queues outside shops.
