Sun lounger vigilantes RUINED my holiday, says disabled Brit OAP after fuming tourists were filmed snatching pool towels

A BRIT tourist was left fuming after TikTokers swiped bed towels from a sun lounger she had been given permission to reserve due to her disability.

Wheelchair user Elaine Simpson, 77, from Manchester, was staying at the Aquasol Aparthotel near Magaluf with her family to mark her 51st wedding anniversary.

But her plans to enjoy the special day by the poolside were ruined after a group of friends nabbed the towels they had used to save their spaces at the permission of hotel staff.

Elaine was joined for the trip by her husband and teenage grandkids for a week’s break in the sun.

But when they arrived, she was put into a hotel room that was five floors up and as far from the pool as they could have been.

Because she suffers from chronic arthritis and is in a wheelchair, this made it a challenge to claim a hotel sun bed at opening time.

She told the Sun: “We could never have made it down for 9am to get a sunbed.

“So we went out to the beach and paid for sunbeds for the whole week.”

Her anniversary came towards the end of their trip – and she wanted to have one day of being able to enjoy the poolside at the hotel.

So she asked reception if they could make an exception to hotel rules and let her reserve a sun bed for that day.

“I went to the man on reception and explained the situation,” she said.

“And he said ‘you have my approval to reserve some sunbeds around the pool’.”

Her teenage grandsons dutifully laid out fresh towels on the sun beds that night so they could save spots for the whole family.

But when they arrived in the morning, the towels had been taken and they were once again left without a space – spoiling the relaxing poolside day they had planned.

“The only thing that was available apart from that was white plastic chairs, she added. “They were too hard. And I can’t lie down on the grass, I’ve got chronic arthritis.”

To start with, they were told it had likely been a lifeguard who removed the towels in error.

But it later transpired that a group of friends, who were unaware an exception was made for the family, had taken the towels.

They had shared a video on TikTok of the lads putting down the towels – who the friends had assumed were tourists attempting to get ahead of the morning rush.

The TikTok shows them sneaking down in the dead of night to swipe the towels in what was painted as an act of justice against queue jumpers.

Comments on the video lambasted the family for what was perceived as an inconsiderate act of breaking the hotel rules.

Elaine told the Sun: “It was vile. My grandsons are 13 and 15, they had no right to post any pictures of them.

“They were just trying to look out for me.

“They’ve not right to do that without checking the facts.

“What somebody saw, and the truth, are completely different.”

Elaine said her daughter has since made contact with the TikToker who posted the original video, who apologised profusely for the confusion and took the clip down.

But she added that the experience hasn’t entirely soured their trip.

They plan to go back to the same hotel next August, and hope to arrange a more wheelchair friendly room with staff.

Iconic SUV that hits 62mph in just 3 secs drops in value the SLOWEST – but what is UK’s fastest-depreciating car brand?

EXPERTS have revealed the UK’s slowest depreciating cars with an iconic sports SUV top of the list.

The Italian marque retains the highest value three years after rolling off dealership forecourts.

The Lamborghini Urus has the slowest depreciation in the market[/caption]

The stunning Lamborghini Urus is still valued at 75% of its price after 36 months on the road.

This is the highest of any in the market, according to analysis from WhatCar?

Specialists warn that road users can expect to pick up a brand new Urus SUV for a whopping £186,509.

But, three years later, the vehicle was still available for approximately £140,000, representing a price drop of £47,000.

Speaking on the Urus, WhatCar? said: “The Urus is one of the most exotic luxury SUVs money can buy, blending jaw-dropping pace with enough practicality to be usable every day.

“The standard 4.0T FSI V8 version produces an explosive 657bhp, which launches the Urus away from a standing start with enough power to have you thinking you’re in one of the brand’s sleeker, more low-slung models.”

Mixing performance with practicality, the motor is the first Super Sport Utility Vehicle in the world, according to Lamborghini.

It can reach a mind-blowing 190mph and can go from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds.

At the same time, it still offers 616 litres of boot space with the seats upright, making it ideal for families.

The capacity increases to 1,596 litres when the seats are pushed back making it a fierce competitor in today’s stacked SUV market.

However, experts have warned it falls short when it comes to fuel economy.

It has an expected range of just 20 miles per gallon.

WhatCar? added: “Don’t think the Urus is some wild beast, though; it stays remarkably upright through bends and, thanks to four-wheel steering, feels more agile than its size might suggest.

“Even better, the Urus is the SUV which keeps the biggest percentage of its value after you’ve owned it for three years. However, to keep that in context, that still equates to more than £46,000 in lost value.”

In stark contrast, Tesla is now one of the UK’s fastest depreciating car brands in the UK.

The carmaker’s models lose nearly half (45 per cent) of their value within three years, according to the Carmoola Car Depreciation Index.

Tesla has risen from eight to fourth place among the worst-performing manufacturers for value retention.

This is a sharp decline compared to most other brands who have shown a relatively stable rate of depreciation.

DS, Polestar and Mitsubishi are the only manufacturers to perform worse according to the latest findings.

In a Carmoola study exploring British drivers’ perception of Tesla, 70% said they’d never want to own a Tesla because of Elon Musk.

In fact, amongst current Tesla owners, nearly three quarters (73 per cent) said they felt ashamed to be seen in the cars with nearly half (45 per cent) actively looking to get rid.

Megan McKenna mum-shamed for giving 8-month-old son steak AGAIN, after people already warned her of the choking hazard

MEGAN McKenna has found herself at the centre of controversy again, after sharing a video of herself giving eight-month-old son Landon steak for dinner.

The 32-year-old took to Instagram to post the clip of her little boy tucking into a juicy piece of meat for his tea.

Megan admitted she’s found it hard to give Landon healthy food while they’ve been going from hotel to hotel[/caption]

She added in the caption that it was a ribeye steak that he was enjoying at The Corinthia hotel in London, where she and fiancé Oliver Burke were having a “pre-wedding stay cay”.

“My little king,” Megan wrote.

“I live in Landon’s world now… yes Landon is eating a ribeye steak at the Corinthia.

“He deserves the best and only the best!”

Megan also said that travelling from hotel to hotel sometimes makes it hard when it comes to feeding her little boy.

The family currently live in Germany, so have to stay in hotels when they come back to the UK.

“It’s really hard to feed Landon when we’re in hotels all the time,” Megan sighed.

“So I’m trying to order food that’s healthy for him and good for him.

“But sometimes for dessert it’s a little fruit pouch because I can’t be stewing up fresh fruit when I’m on the move!”

The video then showed Landon sitting in a highchair at the restaurant in the hotel, as he once again looked delighted with the offerings.

However, while Landon looked to be enjoying his steak, mashed potato and broccoli, trolls were almost immediately active in the comments – taking aim at Megan and warning her that the meat is a choking hazard.

“He shouldn’t be eating steak at this age he can choke,” one wrote.

“At least puree it.

“You’re trying to make him eat like you do, make it make sense!”

“My baby nearly choked on white chocolate, scared the life out of me,” another sighed.

But others insisted the tot eats better than them.

“Why am I obsessed with watching Landon eat?” one asked.

“It’s the goddamn cutest thing!”

“Absolutely love seeing little ones enjoy their food,” another wrote.

“He’s gorgeous.”

“He’s too cute!” Megan’s pal Ferne McCann commented.

England Lionesses announce squad for Euro 2025 after Sarina Wiegman was rocked by THREE withdrawals days before

ENGLAND manager Sarina Wiegman has named her 23-player squad for Euro 2025 as the Lionesses prepare to defend their title.

Three years on from their first-ever European Championship triumph, the Lionesses head to Switzerland next month as one of the favourites.

The Lionesses are looking to defend their European title[/caption]

But they will be missing three key players who contributed to that incredible Wembley success.

Millie Bright, who captained the squad at the 2023 World Cup, made herself unavailable for selection earlier this week due to burnout.

Fran Kirby announced her retirement from international football on Tuesday after learning that she would not be travelling to Switzerland.

And goalkeeper Mary Earps hung up her gloves last month in a huge shock to both Wiegman and her team-mates.

Despite the absences, England approach the European Championship next month with a strong squad.

Leah Williamson will captain the Lionesses for the second time at a major tournament.

She will be joined by defenders Lucy Bronze, Alex Greenwood, Maya Le Tissier, Esme Morgan, Jess Carter, Niamh Charles and Lotte Wubben-Moy.

Following the departure of Earps last month, Hannah Hampton will be England’s No1 this summer.

Khiara Keating and Anna Moorhouse will be on hand in case the Chelsea ace gets injured.

Georgia Stanway returned to the England squad last week following a five-month period on the sidelines with a knee injury.

She is among the list of midfielders included, alongside the likes of Keira Walsh, Ella Toone, Grace Clinton and Jess Park.

And in attack, Wiegman has picked Alessia Russo, Aggie Beever-Jones, Lauren Hemp, Beth Mead, Chloe Kelly and 19-year-old Michelle Agyemang.

Despite being sidelined with a hamstring injury, Lauren James has also earned a call-up for the tournament.

Out of the 23-player squad, 13 were part of the Lionesses’ Euro 2022-winning squad at Wembley.

Meanwhile, seven players will be appearing at their first major tournament.

Sophie Baggaley, Laura Blindkilde Brown, Missy Bo Kearns and Lucy Parker are all on the standby list.

Robbie Keane lined up for shock first management job in English football with return to club he was with six years ago

ROBBIE KEANE has emerged as an early contender for the vacant manager’s job at Middlesbrough.

The Championship side brutally sacked ex-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick on Wednesday.

Michael Carrick was sacked by Boro this week

Keane knows Boro well after spending two years as assistant manager to Jonathan Woodgate between 2018 and 2020.

Despite his role as a No 2 after hanging up his playing boots, Keane has never managed in England.

Keane, 44, impressed owner Steve Gibson during his short stint at the Riverside Stadium six years ago.

The Republic of Ireland and Tottenham legend is coming off a title-winning season with Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

The season before he also lifted a title, taking the Israeli Premier League with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he won the double.

That was Keane’s second job as a head coach, having started out at Indian side ATK upon his retirement in 2018.

From there, he went on to learn his trade as an assistant with Ireland, Leeds, and crucially Boro.

Former Championship-winning Nottingham Forest gaffer Steve Cooper, out of work since he was sacked after 12 games at Leicester, is also on the shortlist to replace Carrick.

Carrick and his assistants Woodgate and Graeme Carrick – his younger brother – have also departed the club.

The 43-year-old, who was the division’s longest-serving manager, led Boro from the 21st in the table in October 2022 to the play-offs.

That was followed by an eighth-placed finish and a run to the League Cup semi-finals but, despite a positive first half of this season, they eventually ended a disappointing 10th.

Keane was a Premier League great with Spurs, scoring 126 goals in 349 appearances, also playing for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Leeds and Coventry.

Rob Edwards and Jon Dahl Tomasson and Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl, who has a hefty release clause, are also options.

Middlesbrough have spent 15 of the last 16 seasons in the Championship.

Arsenal sell forgotten star for £6.5m three years after he last played – and they could rake in more for him this summer

ARSENAL have added around £6.5m to their summer transfer kitty after Nuno Tavares completed a switch to Lazio.

The Portuguese full-back spent last season on loan at the Italian club – having also been loaned out by the Gunners to Marseille and Nottingham Forest over the past two seasons.

Boss Mikel Arteta was left unimpressed by the 25-year-old after making 22 Prem appearances in his debut 2021/22 campaign following an £8m move from Benfica.

SunSport understands that within his Lazio loan deal, there was an obligation to buy should they not be relegated from Serie A.

The Italian side ended up finishing seventh this term.

With Lazio considering selling Tavares straight on this summer for an immediate profit – despite signing him up on a three-year deal – Arsenal would also benefit with a sell-on of up to 25 per cent.

Tavares is Arsenal’s first sale of the summer, expected to be one of many with defenders Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard linked with moves away.

Kiwior is being looked at by several clubs in Italy, Zinchenko is being monitored by Borussia Dortmund and Trossard has admirers in Saudi Arabia.

Both Jorginho and Kieran Tierney are leaving on free transfers, while Raheem Sterling and Neto are returning to their parent clubs after season-long loans.

Arsenal are making room for several incomings in what Arteta has described as a “big summer”, which could see them splash £200m.

BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK

Midfielder Martin Zubimendi is on the brink of having his £51m move from Real Sociedad confirmed, with Thomas Partey also close to signing a new deal with his contract expiring this month.

A No.9 is at the top of new sporting director Andrea Berta’s list, targeting £60m-valued Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres and £69m-valued Red Bull Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

Other areas are also in need of bolstering.

Arsenal want a new No.2 to challenge David Raya.

Espanyol’s £25m-valued Joan Garcia is of interest, but would need to compete with Barcelona for his signature.

A defender could also be needed, but Arteta is currently happy with his options in Zinchenko, Kiwior, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel.

Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams – worth around £50m – remains highly-rated by Arteta.

But his sky-high wages are proving an issue with Arsenal unwilling to break their current financial structure.

Twisted reason ‘assassin’ Luigi Mangione targeted CEO and sick fascination with Unabomber revealed in deranged journal

ACCUSED assassin Luigi Mangione explained exactly why he allegedly targeted the UnitedHealth CEO and gushed about the Unabomber in a deranged journal, court filings reveal.

The disturbed writings were uncovered in a small red spiral notebook that he had in his backpack when he was arrested last year.

The twisted writings of accused CEO assassin Luigi Mangione have allegedly been revealed in new court filings[/caption]

The 27-year-old real estate scion knew that killing Brian Thompson, 50, at an investors conference in New York City on December 4 would make a huge splash, he wrote in the journal.

“The point is made in the news headline Insurance CEO killed at annual investors conference,” Mangione said, according to filings released by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“It conveys a greedy bastard that had it coming.”

The Ivy League graduate fumed over the healthcare industry in the deranged ramblings as he said it, “extracts human life force for money.”

Mangione appeared to muse over planning a mass casualty attack and mentioned the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, who killed three and hurt 23 others by mailing explosives from 1978 to 1995.

“So say you want to rebel against the deadly, greed-fueled health insurance cartel,” the notebook reads.

“Do you bomb the HQ? No. Bombs=terrorism.”

He went on to agree with some of Kaczynski’s anarchist worldviews, but decided that bombing wasn’t a good method to connect with “normies.”

“For example, Ted K makes some good points on the future of humanity, but to make his point he indiscriminately mailbombs innocents,” Mangione wrote.

“Normies categorize him as an insane serial killer, focus on the act/atrocities themselves, and dismiss his ideas.”

Mangione ended the narcissistic notes with an eye-rolling apology and insisted that he had no choice but to allegedly gun down the dad of two.

“I do apologize for any strife or trauma, but it had to be done,” he wrote.

“Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming.”

DISTURBING ‘INTENT’

In the filing, Bragg claimed that the unhinged writings were key to pinning the crime on Mangione, as he said, “The shooting itself speaks volumes of the defendant’s intent.”

“If ever there were an open and shut case pointing to a defendant’s guilt, this case is that case.

“Simply put, one would be hard pressed to find a case with such overwhelming evidence of guilt as to the identity of the murderer and the premeditated nature of the assassination.”

Mangione is facing six state charges and four federal charges over Thompson’s shooting death, and Attorney General Pam Bondi wants prosecutors to seek the death penalty.

She made the decision to “carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again,” she wrote in a statement in April.

“The murder was an act of political violence.” she wrote.

Investigators honed in on the suspect after a pulse-pounding five-day manhunt, which allegedly saw Mangione escape Manhattan and flee to Pennsylvania.

He was eventually caught at a McDonald’s after a worker recognized him from surveillance images as he chowed down on hash browns.

Mangione is set to next appear in court on June 26 for the New York state case.
