Jackson, 28, has since gone on to become well worth the tag of the highest-paid player in NFL history.

He has since fallen to tenth, having seen his salary surpassed by rivals in the division.

However, despite three years remaining on the deal, there is already talk about his future.

The Ravens are keen to keep hold of Jackson and have begun discussions over a contract extension.

The update was announced by team general manager Eric DeCosta.

He said: “We’ve had some conversations before the draft, after the draft in person last week.

“I think we’re in the introductory stage of looking at what an extension might look like.”

The two-time MVP will see his cap number move past $74m next season.

Reports have claimed that Jackson could therefore be offered a new deal worth $300MILLION.

DaCosta added: “We’ve got a lot of business that we’re conducting with different players.
