Alicia Tournebize was playing for France against Belgium in the competition.
She stepped in to intercept a pass on defense and then took off towards the opposing hoop.
Tournebize looked like she was breaking away for an easy lay-up.
But to everyone’s disbelief, she threw down a two-handed slam.
And obvious comparisons were made to San Antonio Spurs star and French prospect Victor Wembanyama.
“WOW!!!! Amazing!!!” one fan said.
Another commented, “WTF is going on in France?
“First Wemby now a 17-year-old girl dunking in game with two hands.”
One more said, “Alicia Tournebize will be a sensation in the WNBA.”
Some fans even implored the Indiana Fever to team her up with Caitlin Clark.
“Would make a great addition for the Indiana Fever,” one posted.
“Indiana Fever wants you!!! Let’s go,” another said.
Tournebize currently plays her basketball for Bourges in France.
She is listed at 6-foot-4 and plays at center.
Her star has continued to rise thanks to her viral slam dunk moments.
The 17-year-old was named on Fiba’s website as one of the stars of the U18 Women’s EuroBasket tournament.
She averaged 12.1 points per game along with 8.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.
Tournebize shot 54.9 per cent from the field and helped France to the bronze medal.
“Her ability to score in the post was a joy to behold,” Fiba’s website said.
“Comfortable with her back to the basket and can score inside in multiple ways, she possessed crafty footwork that always kept defenders guessing – and of course, there was her unmatched athleticism.”
