Nicole first noticed the symptoms when she began experiencing a lot of pain in her left breast and she found a lump during a self-exam.
Early in October 2024, she said on a podcast that she had undergone a single mastectomy.
She previously said that she wanted a double mastectomy, but her doctor advised her to have a “single” one because of her immune system and to help get back into treatment faster.
And now the TV star, 53, has shared on social media that she’s had another mastectomy and reconstruction.
Nicole shared a selfie of her wearing a black sports top just days after the operation.
She captioned it: “Had a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday.
“How was is weekend?,” and added the tags breast cancer and breast cancer awareness.
Nicole said she also noticed symptoms after she gained 25 pounds in a three-month period.
“It really was throbbing and hurting. I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at,” she said in an interview with People.
“But the problem was, I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked.
“So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done.”
Finally, she was able to get a mammogram and three biopsies on her breasts.
“This journey’s been rough for me,” Nicole said.
“This hasn’t been a breezy sale through life.”
However, she always tried to keep a positive outlook, saying: “I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”
STAR’S PAIN
At the time, Nicole planned on having the cancer surgically removed.
Regarding the lump, she said: “I can definitely feel it. It’s there. It needs to be taken out.
“So it’s just a matter of do I have to do treatment before the surgery, or can they perform the surgery and then I do the treatment after.”
What are the signs of breast cancer?
BREAST cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK.
The majority of women who get it are over 50, but younger women and, in rare cases, men can also get breast cancer.
If it’s treated early enough, breast cancer can be prevented from spreading to other parts of the body.
Breast cancer can have a number of symptoms, but the first noticeable symptom is usually a lump or area of thickened breast tissue.
Most breast lumps aren’t cancerous, but it’s always best to have them checked by your doctor. You should also speak to your GP if you notice any of the following:
- a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts
- discharge from either of your nipples (which may be streaked with blood)
- a lump or swelling in either of your armpits
- dimpling on the skin of your breasts
- a rash on or around your nipple
- a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast

During the chat, Nicole said she was not sure what her next steps would be, saying: “I have panics where I’m like, ‘just get this out of me’.
“You sit there and it’s in you and you’re like, every second that passes and it’s inside of me, it’s growing, and you’re just like, you just want it out.”

In the interview, Nicole said that she’s afraid of not being there for her children – Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25.
She said: “[Dilyn’s] an adult, but I have a 12-year-old at home where I’m the only caregiver. I have no family. I have nothing.
“It immediately made me realize, there’s just no succumbing to this. This is something I have to get through.
“This is something that I have to beat. She needs me more than anything and anybody.”
