A POPULAR fast-food chain is opening its first locations in three cities as part of the CEO’s mass expansion plan.
Shake Shack‘s Chief Development Officer, Andrew McCaughan, announced that the brand is opening locations in New York, Florida, and Oklahoma.

“This year, we’re excited to bring Shake Shack to new cities like Buffalo, Naples, and Oklahoma City, expand our footprint across many of our key growth markets, open more drive-thrus, and launch our very first company-operated Shack with a cocktail bar at the Battery in Atlanta,” said McCaughan.
The company is also planning on opening a location in South Carolina for the first time; however, it’s unclear which city it will be.
At the time of writing, Shake Shack has opened 34 new locations this year.
Eighteen of the locations are company-operated, said McCaughan.
The new locations include drive-thrus, airport locations, suburban sites, and global restaurants, he added.
Shake Shack has plans to expand to 1,500 company-operated locations across the US, said McCaughan.
“Much of our expansion this year is focused on underpenetrated suburban markets, places where we see real opportunity to build community and meet guests in the rhythms of their everyday lives,” he added.
“Folks in these communities deserve delicious, flavorful, and fun food options.”
The openings are part of Shake Shack’s plans to open between 80 and 85 new restaurants around the world this year.
Locations are also planned from Tucson, Arizona, Albany, New York, and Panama in 2026.
When asked about the future, McCaughan said that Shake Shack has a new licensing partnership with PENN Entertainment, which runs casinos, racetracks, and hotels in North America.
The company will be opening Shake Shacks at 10 of the company’s casino properties, with the first location opening in 2026.
Other locations are planned for the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio, and the River City Casino Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, said McCaughan.
“We are committed to bringing the world’s best fine casual experience to as many guests, team members, and communities as possible,” said CEO Rob Lynch.
“We need to go into places we haven’t really in before,” he said.
SHAKE IT UP
It comes as the company is also launching promotions to take on its rivals, such as McDonald’s, Five Guys, and Burger King.
From June 5, diners will be able to get a $1 drink if they buy products via the Shake Shack app or website, per Bloomberg.
There will also be perks for customers who buy certain items.
Diners will be able to get $10 off their order if they buy a burger on two separate visits to their local Shake Shack restaurant, as reported by QSR.
In a separate promo, fast-food lovers who buy a barbecue sandwich on two visits will also be able to get money off.
This particular promo will run from July to August 6.
Diners will also be able to take part in so-called challenges, where they can win rewards.
