Hilco Consumer-Retail has been hired to oversee and manage closing sales at 26 At Home spots across the country.

At Home has operated for nearly 50 years in the US, and has 260 stores across 40 states.

Now, At Home is shuttering across multiple states, including California, Massachusetts and New York.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections on June 16 due to the economic pressures it was facing.

Court document revealed that At Home will close all of the 26 stores by September 30.

These closing stores have been cited as underperforming by the company.

At Home will also be closing six “non-operational” stores in the US.

These will be in Redding, California, St. Paul, Minnesota, Clackamas and Salem, Oregon and Everett and Lacey, Washington.

The documents said: “Given the expenses associated with brick-and-mortar operation and the issues affecting the retail industry, a number of the (At Home) remaining stores are operating at sub-optimal performance levels.”

After these closings, ownership of At Home will be transferred to a group of hedge funds and investment firms in various major US states and cities.

These include New York City, New York and San Francisco and California.

There, At Home will be restructured to eliminate the company’s nearly $2 billion in debt, and it will be given a $200 million investment to support it through the process.

MASSIVE SALES

As a result of the 26 closings, customers can now enjoy huge sales at all of the locations.

This sales period started on June 19, and has marked items up to 30% off.

The At Home stores are looking to offload everything, from inventory to the equipment used in stores.

This includes everything from store fixtures, to desks and cash tills, and each store will remain open during normal hours while this is happening.

A joint statement from Hilco and At Home said: “Shoppers can expect truly incredible savings on a massive inventory of home furnishings and decor.

“From wall art and rugs to patio furniture and kitchen essentials, everything must go — and prices have been reduced across the board.”

It is important to note that only in-store discounts are valid, and coupons will not to applied in addition to sales prices in closing stores.

Returns to the closing stores can only be made until July 2, and gift cards will be accepted through that date, too.
