Beloved grocery chain confirms it has slashed price on viral Dubai chocolate bar to $9.99 after Trader Joe’s sells out

A BELOVED grocery chain has confirmed that it has slashed the price on a viral Dubai chocolate bar to $9.99.

The wildly popular treat has already sold out at Trader Joe’s once, meaning this supermarket rival might be your best place to go.

Earlier this month, The US Sun reported that Lidl was trying its hand at Dubai chocolate.

A representative for the company told The US Sun that the bars would be sold for $12.99 each, or two for $20.

The representative described the Dubai Chocolate as being ” filled with rich, creamy milk chocolate (like the original recipe) and stuffed with an ooey-gooey kadayif + pistachio cream center.

“It’s the same dreamy combo that made this bar a full-blown cult obsession – and now it’s hitting US shelves.”

The bars are twice as big as the ones found at Trader Joe’s, and will begin selling on shelves from Friday, June 13.

But now, a new price has been announced just days before the chocolate goes on sale at Lidl.

The US Sun has been told that Lidl‘s Dubai chocolate will now be sold at $9.99 a bar instead of $12.99.

This $3 saving reaffirms that Lidl is one of the best places to go for Dubai chocolate.

Supplies of the chocolate will only be selling as long as supplies last at Lidl.

TRADED AT JOE’S

Trader Joe’s was selling its bar for Dubai chocolate for just $3.99 a bar, making it the cheapest place to find it.

This is by a considerable margin, too, given that a seven ounce bar was going for $29.99 at Target.

Meanwhile, Walmart sells a seven ounce bar for $26 – marked down from the original $28.99 price.

But shoppers quickly reacted to the amazing Trader Joe’s price, and grabbed every bar in a matter of hours, per The US Sun.

It has not been officially confirmed by Trader Joe’s if it plans to restock its supply, but has said it could if it wanted to.

Dubai Chocolate Bar Craze

The iconic Dubai Chocolate Bar has taken the internet by storm.

It went viral in December 2023 thanks to TikToker Maria Vehera’s video showing her indulging in the Middle Eastern treat, which has since garnered over 6.9 million likes.

The original Dubai Chocolate Bar, called Can’t Get Knafeh of It, was created by Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai.

Vehera’s post sparked a craze among sweet tooths, who were quickly disappointed to realize that the decadent treat was expensive and hard to find.

Many social media users have whipped up copycat versions and homemade Dubai chocolate bars to get a taste of the treat.

Starbucks even launched a Dubai Chocolate Bar Matcha Latte inspired by the dessert, which has high demand and limited availability in the states.

Several retailers have begun selling versions of the chocolate bar as well to capitalize on the trend.

A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s said that “if our customers really love this product, we can certainly get more.”

We do know that San Francisco Trader Joe’s stores plan to replenish their supply of the viral treat on June 9 or 10.

But Lidl beats Trader Joe’s in the size of the bar it is selling.

Lidl shoppers may be paying more, but they are certainly getting more bang for their buck.

Dubai chocolate went viral on TikTok in 2023, and since then, Americans have been obsessed with it.

The candy is filled with pistachio cream and the shredded pastry called kataifi, but covered in dark chocolate rather than the usual milk chocolate.
